Res 2286 is more relevant than ever. The frequency of attacks against medical facilities and personnel in today’s armed conflicts is truly alarming, and it must not be normalised.

On the margins of the #NPT Review Conference, 🇮🇪 & 🇳🇿 co-hosted an event with members of the @UN Independent Panel on Nuclear War Effects and Scientific Research.

At a time of heightened nuclear risks, the urgent work of tackling the catastrophic effects of nuclear war must be based on the latest science. 🔬☢️

We look forward to seeing the Panel’s work develop over the coming 18 months.

Today, the 11th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons begins at @UN HQ.

Over the next few weeks, Ireland will work with all States Parties to uphold the #NPT, prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons and advance essential disarmament commitments and obligations.
