The logic for his doing this now was so preposterously bad. Either way he loses: 1) he “wins” the board seats and appears as the political power broker that he claims not to be; 2) He loses (as he did) and looks pathetic. He lost to the CHA and to the City Council at the same time.
@sammorril Rather than criticizing a guy at the absolute top of his own profession, why not criticize the folks at the top of your own profession. You clearly would have to work through dozens of names.
Lemme coach ya up a little bit here, Larry.
First, your numbers are make believe as they incorporate the JV gym known as McDonough. We both know that is irrelevant in Big Boy Big East terms. Though I'll bet you can't sell it out in 2026-27. The real arena is Cap One Center with Capacity of 20,356...thus 28%. Barf!
Secondly, GU has 7900 undergrads vs. 4500 for PC. Not good news for ya.
Lastly, DC has population of 700k+ while Providence 190k. You aren't really inspiring to the locals either.
I do, however, applaud you for less self awareness than anyone in the Big East.
