Test Takeaway: With his classical action, debutant left arm spinner Manav Suthar was extremely impressive (3/21) today. He comes from Sri Ganganagar, deep northern Rajasthan, same place as ghazal singer Jagjit Singh #INDvsAFG#ManavSuthar@pra0902@nikhilsahni_@SunilWarrier1
Truth About Tests: Empty stands at New Chandigarh in India-Afg Test. The city saw IPL overkill. A non-IPL town could have drawn in more. Also wondering how many 'Test lovers' are watching this game on tv or mobile. #INDvsAFG#IndvAfgTest@pra0902@SunilWarrier1@nikhilsahni_
The Truth About Today's Cricket: In a Test, England 140 all out on home turf in less than 40 overs. New Zealand 61/6 in less than 20 overs. If it had happened in India, the West would complained of poor batting conditions. And another group at home would have blamed IPL. The truth is old batsmanship is gone. Globally. And it cannot return. #EngvsNZ #IPL @pra0902@nikhilsahni_
Kyle Jamieson's furious jumping and hostile hand-clapping send-off to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a clear indicator how the 15-year-old batter is being feared and hated by top bowlers across the world. That's a rarest of rare achievement for someone whose career has just begun. #RRvsDC #VaibhavSooryavanshi #KyleJamieson @nikhilsahni_@pra0902
Miller Time: Against GT, he refused a single in the last over's 5th ball as any responsible finisher would. He failed to score the winning run. Today he smashed 6,6,4 in the last over's 3,4,5 balls to redeem himself. That was cricket. This was cricket too. #DavidMiller#Miller #RCBvsDC @pra0902@nikhilsahni_@_AnsumanRath
Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly were brilliant today, but the stellar show on a batting paradise was Prince Yadav's. Neither could get the better of him. He has pace and the smarts. For sure, he is a super India prospect #PKvsLSG#Priyansh#PrinceYadav@nikhilsahni_@pra0902
The two-day silver jubilee celebration of my free residential school for tribal children — ITITI Doon Sanskriti School — concluded last evening at Delhi’s iconic Bharat Mandapam, marking a milestone filled with emotion and pride.
The event witnessed a remarkable gathering of distinguished guests — including the Vice President of India, Dr. C.P. Radhakrishnan, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Sandhu, several Ministers from the North-Eastern states, senior Secretaries to the Government of India, Vice Chancellors, eminent professors from IITs, members of NITI Aayog, Army officers and th King of Ladakh — all joining students from the North East, resplendent in their traditional attire.
While every session brimmed with insight and inspiration, the most touching and fulfilling moment came during the interaction with the students from the school’s very first batch of 2002. Seeing them return as accomplished doctors, scientists, artists, and photographers was deeply moving — a living testament to the transformative power of education and perseverance.
Each panelist was honoured with a Naga scarf and a unique memento — the complete text of Vande Mataram, printed on a bamboo sheet — a gift that wove together the spirit of the North East and the soul of the nation. A special postal cover was also released on the occasion by the Department of Post.
Over the past 25 years, the school has nurtured more than 2,500 students — children who began their journeys with almost nothing but dreams, and now stand tall as confident contributors to society.
Inaugurated a quarter century ago by the then Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, this institution continues to embody his vision — empowering India’s tribal youth with dignity, opportunity, and hope. It fills me with immense pride to see how far we have come, and how brightly the next generation shines.
Thanks to everyone who has played a role in this wonderful journey.

Difference between Lata Mangeshkar & Asha Bhosle: If Lata was the voice of the times, Asha was its hidden desire. Lata’s voice personified sincerity, virtuousness, consent -- preferred and revered attributes of the time while Asha’s embodied wanting, abandon, dissent -- traits frowned upon at the time. Lata’s voice conveyed the innocence of a morning hymn, the sanctity of a temple. Asha’s carried the sizzle of a cabaret, the rush of a French kiss. Lata’s voice was the canon of the times, Asha’s a forecast of future freedoms. #AshaBhosle #LataMangeshkar @pra0902@SameerAKhatlani@SunilWarrier1@rasheedkidwai@ghazalawahab@Tweetnitins
