A massive section of a Himalayan glacier broke away and plunged nearly 4,000 feet into a river valley, unleashing deadly flash floods across Nepal. Hundreds have been killed and many more are missing.

This is the climate crisis and it is only accelerating. Countries like Nepal contributed almost nothing to create this crisis, yet their people are suffering some of its most catastrophic consequences. But nowhere is immune. In Arizona, hundreds of people die every summer as a result of extreme heat.

Meanwhile, Trump and Republicans are handing Big Oil more tax breaks and giveaways to line the pockets of their fossil fuel donors. It’s all part of the corruption story. We need to be talking about it, but unfortunately the corruption and devastation caused by the Trump regime is so vast that its assault on climate often gets forgotten in the chaos.

We have no time left to waste. Climate change is a threat multiplier and we have to respond with the urgency it demands.
