I was raised to be modest. Where did it leave me?

It taught me to deflect compliments, hesitate to negotiate my salary, stay quiet about my accomplishments, and constantly second-guess my own worth.

So no, I won't correct my son when he says, "I'm intelligent."
As long as he isn't saying, "I'm more intelligent than everyone else," I see no reason to step in.

I'd rather raise a child who knows his worth than an adult who spends years trying to discover it.

4. Who makes financial decisions, and how do we handle disagreements about money?
5. How do we treat each other when things get boring, stressful, or hard?

Love brings two people together. Respect, effort, and honest conversations keep them together.
