📜 The European Commission recently published its proposal for revising the End-of-Life Vehicle Directive, transforming it into a "Regulation on circularity requirements for vehicle design and on management of end-of-life vehicles."
🤝 The co-legislators will engage in discussions over the next few months to reach a final agreement on the matter.
✅ Currently, the proposed text by the European Commission offers intriguing ideas and appears to be on the right track.

📢 The findings of our study on #aluminium usage in #cars are out!
🔍 The study, commissioned by European Aluminium and conducted by @DuckerWorldwide, has found that the average amount of aluminium used in European cars has increased by 18% from 174 kg in 2019 to 205 kg in 2022.
📈 According to the study, the trend towards #electrification in the #automotive industry is driving a significant increase in aluminium content. The study predicts this trend is set to continue, with the average aluminium content projected to increase from 205 kg in 2022 to 237 kg by 2026 (+15.6%) and 256 kg per vehicle by 2030 (+24.9%).

The @EUCouncil today the approved regulation on #CO2 standards for cars and vans. The law requires carmakers to reduce #emissions of new cars by 55% in 2030, and by 100% in 2035. This is a huge move towards fulfilling the climate neutrality goals for #transport in 2050. #Fitfor55
Aluminium helps to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle, improving EV’s range and performance🚗.
The growing demand📈 for EVs by 2030 will lead to an additional #aluminium demand of approximately 1.4M tonnes per year. Find out more👉 https://t.co/dpIANIykEU.

One thing is clear: without aluminium it would be impossible for Europe to achieve #netzero emissions🌿.
Europe’s 2030 energy transition will require 4 M tonnes of additional #aluminium per year. Let's make sure it's made in EU👉https://t.co/dpIANIykEU
