You are not sincere. Was it only the lady you call by her first? The first time you met her did you immediately start calling her by her first name? If you are in that meeting would you raise your hand, stand up, greet him by his first name even if he is your twin brother?
I don’t know why people are abusing this lady. Tony Elumelu is an international figure, and I expected better from him.
In the Western world, calling someone by their first name isn’t disrespectful at all. As a matter of fact, at my former place of work in the UK 🇬🇧, there was a Nigerian woman who was over 55 years old, and I called her by her first name.
I want to ask Tony: if he were in the UK 🇬🇧 and that lady called him “Tony,” would he criticise her for it?
I must be sincere with you, Tony was wrong there. I feel his reaction came across as prideful because of his achievements.
Many people claiming it’s about “culture” aren’t being sincere. Tony likely wouldn’t try that with a Nigerian abroad, so why do it in Nigeria? That, to me, is hypocrisy.
She was shooting her shot but ended up exposing her ignorance. She is ill-mannered. Do you know that attitude could put TE in a marital problem. Like some girls after rubbing the head of their sugar daddy they grow wings and start thinking they have arrived.
I’ve seen a lot of comments on this interview.
A graduate trainee addressing Mr Tony Elumelu by his name.
While some criticized her, others say it’s no big deal.
No, it is a very big deal.
This young lady here will never address her father by his name.
He might not even address her older siblings by their name.
Everything is wrong with it.
I like how he schooled her immediately.
Some say westerners do not find it offensive.
Question is, must we adopt everything from them?
Are they the bigger humans?
They have their culture.
Ours should be preserved too.
I like how Mr Tony addressed it.
Someone like me won’t say anything.
When you get home, you’ll see 200k bank charges.
It has nothing to do with Gen Z, woke. It's about character, ignorance and idiocy. Even in the West you call someone by their first name if the person tells you too especially if you are not close to the person. Even if you are peers you don't just call someone by their name.
I STRONGLY believe you guys endorsing the young lady who called Mr. Tony Elumelu as "Tony" are very dishonest with your take. Don't tell us about "corporate environments". Mr. Tony himself has been in many corporate environments and is very right to correct her that way. The proper thing is to call him with his title(s) and let him be the one to tell you to just call him by name.
Y'all be comparing it with white people. Hello? Even amongst the white people, some of them stand by this principle.
You know why I love Mrs Ibukun Awosika? It's because she always speaks with wisdom and grace. Watch one of her clips on matters like this
My logic Professor had cancer but today he is hale and hearty, living his life to the fullest. He doesn't even believe in God. I hope you get the adequate support you need.

And the story shall end not with a full stop, but with a triumphant comma.
OGOGO SHALL RISE AGAIN - Insha Allahu. 🤲🏾
Good Morning Severally...
Advocating for a return to the subsidy regime not wisdom. For more than 20 years we practiced it and it wasn't ultimately favourable. No subsidy regime is just in its third year, wisdom demands we stick to it for now. We must be progressive in our movement. Say no to subsidy.
Beautifully put. Legalization of cannabis is good but we're faced with certain truths. Many things must come in place b4 we can say we are considering it. At the moment under 18's, 15's and even 10's indulge recklessly with alcoholic drinks. We must put the horse b4 the cart.
NOBODY DON MAKE @sowore LOOK THIS STUPID... READ
The NDLEA Commander of Ogun State, CN Tijjani Rabe, has responded to Omoyele Sowore.
HIS RESPONSE; 👇
With all due respect, Sir.
Leadership is not built on insults to institutions that sacrifice daily for this country.
NDLEA did not wake up and decide to set farms ablaze for sport. We act on a clear mandate given to us by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
While you describe us as “foolish,” Nigerians are witnesses to our record. In the last 5 years, this institution has made monumental seizures of illicit drugs — stopping tons from getting into our homes, schools, barracks, and motor parks.
Beyond enforcement, we have counseled and rehabilitated thousands of young Nigerians whose futures were being destroyed by drug abuse. We have also dismantled transnational cartels that use drug proceeds to fund kidnapping, banditry, and arms.
You cannot seek to be Commander-in-Chief and in the same breath denigrate the men and women who serve under that command.
If you disagree with the law, the democratic path is to sponsor a bill to change it. Not to resort to abuse. NDLEA, and indeed all law enforcement agencies, deserve better — especially from those who aspire to lead.
Yes, we are grappling with poverty. But we are also grappling with addiction, mental illness, and insecurity that illicit drugs worsen. We cannot solve one crisis by deepening another.
Before advocating for the legalization of cannabis, we must first interrogate our environment, our institutions, and our realities. What works elsewhere will not automatically work here.
Legalization without strong guardrails — proper tracking, prescription monitoring, laboratories, and rehabilitation centers — will only expand the black market. Even Canada, years after legalization, still contends with a thriving illicit market. With our current regulatory capacity, Nigeria’s situation will be far worse.
Let us also be clear: many of these “economically viable farms” are controlled by armed networks linked to trafficking and violence. To legalize now is to hand legitimacy to those same networks. You do not defeat poverty by empowering cartels.
What Nigeria needs now is stronger advocacy for medical research and Alternative Development for farmers — not a rush to legalization.
If the goal is to build an industry, then let us start by funding the labs, the rehab centers, and the cooperatives that will make it safe and sustainable.
Until that foundation exists, NDLEA will continue to do what the law demands of us: interdict, destroy, and save lives. That is not "idiotic", Sir. That is duty.
We will, however, excuse the tone. In this season, many will say anything for attention. On our part, we remain grateful for the support and encouragement of millions of Nigerians who believe in the work we do.
CN TIJJANI RABE
U r the undemocratic one. You are supposed to hide in shame. The earlier you sign your uncle as a dancer in your next video the better. You should stop acting like a "house nigger" you are shaming Nigerians.
I pray they vote out your incompetent uncle. He is not worthy of that office and you know that. You should stop all these mediocrity and join and vote out your uncle for a better candidate.
A CALL FOR ATTENTION TO PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP
President Donald Trump, I am calling your attention to the situation in Osun State, Nigeria, as we approach the election.
There are growing concerns about tension and the possibility of violence, intimidation, or disruption of the democratic process. Osun people deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully, and without fear.
I appeal to the United States and the international community to pay close attention to the election and encourage all relevant authorities to ensure that every voter is protected and every vote is respected.
We do not want bloodshed. We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, and a free and fair election. @realDonaldTrump
You are all the same: survivalists, opportunists, that depend majorly on the benevolence and sympathy of people. In other words you all exude the vibe of glorified beggars, and invincible scammers. So basically you can't afford to mind your biz, bc you thrive on gossip.
Since when VDM take come for Wizkid Nigerians no dey take am serious again. What a life..
I said Paul should come out and tell his own side of the story but na VDM kon dey tell us his own side.. since when VDM take belong to the okoye’s family eehn Nigerians
Anyone that loves Nigeria should not hesitate to vote for this man, he has stabilized Nigeria and our pains will not be in vain. Tinubus is the answer and his reforms are yielding dividends. Say yes ta a better Nigeria, say yes to Tinubu.
When there's a focus there will be improvements. I applaud and encourage the Nigerian government on its efforts to annihilate bandits and kidnappers. Long live the good people of Nigeria! Long live @officialABAT !! Long live Nigeria
The release of the abducted victims in Oyo State should make every Nigerian pause and reflect. They regained their freedom without the horrific abuse that so often accompanies kidnappings, and that did not happen by chance.
What many may not appreciate is that the Nigerian state is increasingly learning to negotiate from a position of strength rather than weakness. In the case of Oyo, instead of allowing kidnappers to dictate the terms, our security architecture used the kidnappers tactics against them by taking their families and loved ones into confinement, therefore applying pressure where it hurts most. Kidnappers must know that whatever they do to innocent Nigerians will be meted out to their families and loved ones in return.
This is precisely why I have repeatedly said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser is one of the finest decisions of this administration. His approach is strategic, unconventional and focused on making kidnapping an increasingly costly enterprise for those who engage in it.
The day every kidnapper understands that crime will bring overwhelming consequences, not only for the perpetrators themselves but for their families, is the day kidnapping will begin to lose its appeal. Deterrence, backed by intelligence and the full weight of the law, is how nations win this fight.
And note, a big beautiful prison will be built for kidnappers and their families!
You can't impose your stupidity on others. That's the way of a bully. A hungry man is always an angry one. It's not compulsory u give someone what they demand, my school of thought don't encourage it, the fools abusing me can't understand, they are classless and lesser beings.
@doshmanhere He is a broke, angry guy. He can't be a happy guy. His not funny, he is just an insecure bully, anybody applauding him does not understand life.
@doshmanhere He is a broke, angry guy. He can't be a happy guy. His not funny, he is just an insecure bully, anybody applauding him does not understand life.
Glad to know that that battle was won. We pray for more victories against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping. More grease to the elbows of our security operatives. Long live law abiding citizens of Nigeria! Long live Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubus!! Long live Nigeria.
Tonight, our nation has reason to give thanks.
The children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State have been rescued by our security forces, alive and unharmed. No ransom was paid. No concession was made.
I salute every officer and operative whose courage, discipline, and professionalism made this possible.
To those who seek to spread fear through terror, know that the Nigerian state will pursue you relentlessly. We will protect our people, defend our communities, and never relent until peace and security prevail across our country.
BOLA AHMED TINUBU
President & Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
