@OrwellWarnedUsA @browserdotsys@ptntlbyrnths also surprised to see people pretending that anything that isn't general relativity isn't hard. is math harder than CS? CS involves tons of math like combinatorics and graph theory. but sure, some math and physics might be harder? what difference does it make
@OrwellWarnedUsA @browserdotsys@ptntlbyrnths i don't know why you have the reflex to see anyone disagreeing with you as being offended or having their ego hurt. something to work on. i'm just surprised at what is being called computer science in this thread when it's really software development.
@browserdotsys there's a hell of a chasm between "picking up computing" to write a few scripts and doing PhD research in computer science. which is also not what "midwits" making 6 figures are doing.
@tomysweat1@browserdotsys "coding" like making a frontend with some dynamic behavior, or "coding" like building operating systems, reliable cloud infrastructure, game engines, databases, or compilers? it's quite a trick to collapse the entire range of difficulty down to "coding"
@VjiaoBlack@CodeRed_dev@ChrisBlackRX being able to work hard is also a gift. not everyone has the same ability for self-discipline. also pretty sure the implication there was that people who don't have an ear for music need to pay someone to do it rather than do it themselves, so a bit of a weird analogy.
