One of the most interesting details noted by @nchan on Orion could easily be mistaken for hairs stuck to the lens. These are actually wires powering tiny IR LEDs, laid out in a random pattern to be less detectable by the eye than if they were in a straight or grid pattern.
Animation quality is a difficult subject that I think we've not quite got to grips with yet as a community.
