@Jairam_Ramesh Refusals are not the way to go in democracy. They are not the kings and queens of India. They are elected representatives of people of Bharat. Kindly remind them sir. With all honesty, without walking out, all opposition must not let the bill pass. #takebackGIBNAA2021@WInsurers
Nationalisation of Insurance was done
➡️serve need of the economy
➡️Develop the insurance business in the best interests of community
➡️prevent concentration of wealth& to regulate/control the industry
Privatisation will undo all the progress made

Respected Finance Minister madam,
Please compare the Policies issued by the Public Sector General Insurance companies and Private Insurers and then talk about Insurance penetration.

The privatization plan weakens Social Security and threatens our economic security by creating trillions of dollars in new debt.

If pvt ins cos failed then owner has only one option to sell it. Neither govt nor public has right and expertise to intervene due do complex nature of insurance.
But PSU don't generally fail and always has expertise to come out of any situation.

Main culprit is IRDA.Kabhi tariff lata hai kabhi usko de tariff kar deta hai. MACT awards increased 100 times but TP rate increased miniscule.Pvt company never so commercial TP businesses due to heavy losses

Privatisation is likely to result in private losses in the form of increased risk and social losses in the form of the inability of the state as a representative of social interest to direct investments by the insurance industry.

20 years since the Insurance market was opened for Private players.
30+ Private players against Four
▪️PSGI are still the Market leaders
They didn't fail, Govt has failed in running them.

Public sector General Insurers have a Higher Claim ratio due to the Mega Health Government Schemes they undertake.
Higher ICR is indicative of low premium based on Govt pricing and its liberal policy towards claim payment unlike private players.

We need comments from Finance Minister on this.
Why are they adamant on selling every public sector unit as if private companies are infallible.
#takebackGIBNAA2021
➡️Public Insurers have 10 times more offices than Private Insurers in Rural Areas.
Public sector = 3263
Private Sector = 335
It is the Public companies who made insurance products available to the rural masses.
