Major cheat code for life: Every pattern in your life repeats until you learn the lesson. The moment you choose differently, the loop ends and growth begins.
Official working hours of Bank Officers & Staffs is 7 Hours including Lunch.
CMD Union Bank accepted that her staffs doing late sitting till late hours and so instructed all to do 'Day End' max by 6PM so that staffs can leave by 6:30PM.
Good initiative for Work Life Balance.
🚨 Dear Banking Twitter "Experts", Stop Scaring Every New Aspirant.
One thing genuinely makes me laugh. 🤣
A section of Banking Twitter behaves as if they are the only people who understand banking. Their timeline is filled with arguments, trolling, complaints, and discouraging every new aspirant who wants to join a bank.
The moment someone says, "A bank job is a good opportunity," they start reacting as if banks are making employees work for free or torturing them 24×7.
Then comes the daily comparison: "Central Government jobs are better." "Insurance is better." "Don't join banks."
I'm a banker myself. I know banking isn't easy. There are targets, customer pressure, audits, inspections, staff shortages and mental stress. Within a year, I'll most likely become a Branch Manager, so I know my responsibilities will only increase.
But here's my question...
If banking was really that terrible, why did you join in the first place?
Most of the loudest voices on Banking Twitter seem to be post-2014 joiners, when the sector was already under pressure. None of this is new.
Today, every aspirant already knows the reality before joining.
If you're genuinely unhappy, nobody is stopping you from resigning.
But let's be honest...
Most people don't resign because they don't have a better opportunity or a Plan B.
And that's completely understandable.
So why spend every day abusing the banking profession on Twitter, only to report back to the same bank the next morning? 🤷♂️
Another funny thing is that many of these self-proclaimed leaders are associated with one union or another. They often behave more like social media influencers than people solving employees' real issues.
Meanwhile, unemployment in India is a much bigger reality.
Go and ask a 25–27-year-old graduate who has been searching for a job for years. Many people can't even find a ₹10,000/month private job despite working 10–12 hours a day.
For them, a bank job isn't a burden.
It's a dream.
Yes, banking has pressure.
But banking also pays.
I'm a graduate earning around ₹1 lakh per month. Which private company was going to offer me that immediately after graduation?
Would I resign today without a better opportunity?
No.
So why should I tell others not to join?
Tell aspirants the complete picture—the challenges and the benefits. Then let them decide.
Stop spreading unnecessary fear among fresh candidates.
And if someone truly decides to resign, another deserving unemployed aspirant will gladly take that vacancy.
Now let's see how many self-proclaimed "great bankers" get offended and start trolling me. 🤣🍿

Unpopular opinion: SBI is way better than many private banks when it comes to branch service. 👀
Went to SBI to apply for a Visa Platinum Debit Card.
I walked in expecting the classic "Come after lunch." 😅
Instead...
• Needed to update my address.
• Apply for a new debit card.
• Unblock Internet Banking.
I expected three different forms.
They handed me just one form and completed all three requests.
Didn't carry a photocopy of my Aadhaar.
No problem. They took Original, made a copy instantly.
My account's home branch is in another state, so I was expecting another hurdle.
Their response?
"No problem, we can update the address."
The entire experience was smooth, the staff were welcoming, and everything was handled without any unnecessary back and forth.
Never thought I'd say this, but in this case, the "sarkari bank" experience was better than what I've had at several private banks.
Also, I don't think I've ever received a promotional call from SBI. That's another pleasant surprise.
What's been your experience with SBI?
The same people who mocked the reporter are now apologizing to him... this is the best thing about this generation that they realize their mistakes quickly and own up to them. So happy to see him smiling again.
One of the most satisfying moments of my banking career. ❤️
Some time ago, a rural customer visited our branch. He wasn't educated and initially refused to enrol in PMJJBY.
But people in rural areas place immense trust in bank employees. After I patiently explained the scheme to him, he finally agreed.
₹436 was debited as premium.
Unfortunately, he later passed away. 💔
His wife came to our branch only for a normal death claim settlement. She had no idea that her husband had enrolled in PMJJBY.
His account had barely ₹650 — and even that was a significant amount for the family.
She was uneducated, couldn't sign, knew nothing about documentation, and didn't even know how to obtain a death certificate. She had lost her husband and had two children to take care of.
We immediately started helping her. I explained the entire process, sent our sub-staff with her for assistance, completed the paperwork, and personally followed up on the claim.
Around 20 days later, ₹2,00,425 was credited to her account.
The happiness and relief on her face… I still can't explain it in words. ❤️
We couldn't bring her husband back.
But that ₹436 decision gave his family some financial support when they needed it the most.
That day, I genuinely felt proud that my job as a banker could make a difference in someone's life.
Sometimes, the greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that someone's life became a little better because of you. ❤️

it is an unwritten rule of life that after every prolonged period of hardship and uncertainty, there is going to be a period when you are going to achieve quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life. the only requirement is that you do not give up on yourself.
Avni (Name changed) is an officer in a PSB.
Years of bank stress finally broke her health. She could not conceive on time. Years of treatment failed. She turned to IVF. It worked. She got twins.
But they came pre term. Both babies ended up in the NICU.
She was on sick leave through all this. Under the bipartite settlement, IVF cases get one year of maternity leave. She took it. But taking care of two premature babies needed more. She applied for one more year of sabbatical.
Her ZM sat on the file. Did not forward it to HO for three months. On purpose.
When it finally reached HO, only six months got approved. Not one year.
And the ZM was already irritated that she had been "on leave" this long.
HR did nothing. The union did nothing either.
Now she is being served a chargesheet. Unauthorised absence. And they are threatening dismissal.
A woman fights infertility, IVF, premature twins in NICU. And her reward from the system is a dismissal notice.
If this is how a PSB treats a mother, would you trust this system with your own family's future?
Tell us in the comments, have you seen HR or your ZM do this to someone in your branch?
5 Days banking a week is not just about work life balance; it is about improving productivity, employee wellbeing, and service quality.

Good investigative work by @Tweetsandeep on HDFC Bank's deal with MSRDC on paying the latter preferential interest rates on their savings deposits.
Do pay some attention to the portion that points to the RBI's swift notice, calming everyone that all's well with the bank.
Corruption is no longer in suitcases full of cash.
It is now structural, institutionalized and "legal".
That is why most Indians fail to see it.

I’ve taken 500+ interviews till date.
One thing I can confidently say, most interviewers know your fit for the role within the first 10 minutes.
The rest of the conversation is usually about validating that feeling.
So when an interviewer keeps probing, guiding, or asking follow-up questions, don’t panic. That’s actually a good sign.
It means they see potential and want you to elaborate better.
Interviews are rarely about perfect answers. They are more about skill, clarity of thought, communication, and energy.
