London Celebrates Diwali at Trafalgar Square!

Trafalgar Square came alive today as London hosted its main public Diwali celebration, drawing tens of thousands of people to mark the Festival of Lights. Presented by the Mayor of London in partnership with the Diwali in London Committee—chaired by Chinmaya Mission UK and comprising several Hindu, Sikh, and Jain dharmic organisations including Art of Living, BAPS Swaminarayan Neasden Mandir, Brahma Kumaris, ISKCON, Metropolitan Police Hindu Association, NHSF, OneJain, Sai School of Harrow, Telugu Association of London, World Council of Hindu Temples, and Ilford Hindu Centre—the event reflected the unity and diversity of London’s faith communities.

The main stage featured a vibrant line-up of performances ranging from energetic Garba and devotional bhajans to a traditional Aarti ceremony. Across the square, visitors engaged in yoga and meditation sessions, Bharatanatyam workshops, sari and turban tying experiences, children’s activities, puppet shows, and cultural exhibits showcasing the rich traditions and meaning of Diwali.

I raised the horrific intimidation of my constituents and many others, as Pro-Khalistan thugs disrupted screenings of the new "Emergency" film in cinemas.

Some cinemas have even pulled the film in fear of more disruption.

INSIGHT UK strongly objects to the use of the term "Asian" to describe the individuals involved in the recent Manchester airport incident.

The individuals in question were neither Indian nor Hindu. The conflation of British Hindus and Indians with the
broader "Asian" identity often leads to a misrepresentation of Indian and Hindu values and behaviours, which are fundamentally peaceful.

The British Hindu and Indian communities are highly educated, well-integrated, and law-abiding. They are among the highest taxpayers and contributors in the UK across all ethnic minorities. The British Hindu and Indian communities make significant contributions to business, healthcare, technology, innovation, and finance, driving economic growth and societal progress in the UK.

As law-abiding citizens, we stand by the police and commend their decisive response to the senseless attack on their officers.

We urge all journalists to avoid using the term "Asian" to ensure accurate and respectful representation.

Call to drop Tory candidate seeking re-election in Dudley over dog whistle and divisive politics.

The entire premise of the Conservative campaign in Dudley appealing to Pakistani voters is anti Hindu hate, false narrative on Kashmir, hate for India and for the democratically elected third time Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also undermines the sovereignty of India.

The divisive letter by North Dudley Tory candidate Marco Longhi to his Pakistani voters indulges in dog whistling and sectarian politics. The letter highlights the Labour candidate’s name, a Hindu name.

@RishiSunak @Conservatives must immediately withdraw support for Longhi’s campaign, which is both offensive to the Hindu community and alienates them.

INSIGHT UK strongly condemns this letter and demands strict action against Tory candidate Marco Longhi.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind Mr Longhi that the entire Jammu-Kashmir was, is, and will remain an integral part of India (including Pakistan occupied Jammu-Kashmir).
