Comments have always been the number 1 go to thing to do when you’re trying to grow.

And for good reason.

The value behind leaving a comment is unmatched.

You simply cannot grow if you’re not leaving comments.

Because if you have 0 followers.

No one is seeing your content.

No one seeing your content means no one is engaging with it.

Which means, nobody is pushing it to others.

But with comments.

Whole different story.

I like to think of accounts as real estate.

The more followers you have, the larger your building.

Think of comments like renting out that building for your own use.

You leave a comment.

The bigger the account.

The more chances of people seeing your comment.

The more chances of them liking what you said.

And the more chances of them dropping you a follow.

Kickstarting the whole growth thing.

But comments are important for more than just growth.

And there are good and bad ways to leave comments.

But for the sake of today’s email.

I don’t wanna talk about how to leave a comment.

I want to talk about the importance of leaving comments.

Not just for growth.

But for momentum.

The thing with X.

If you have a few days off.

You’re f*cked.

Not because nobody will remember you.

But because of the way the X algo works.

Basically.

The more you consistently show up and use the platform.

The more you’ll be pushed to other people.

Don’t use the platform, and they’re not gonna push you.

But this fact also rings true when you use the platform.

Because even if you use the platform daily.

You can still f*ck yourself.

If you’re showing up daily and writing content.

That’s only 1 piece of the puzzle.

The other piece, that ensures your accounts survival.

Is comments.

Because even if you show up daily and write content.

You’re missing one of the important pillars of social media.

The social side.

So if you’re not leaving any comments or replying to people.

You can at some points, just be seen as that dude who writes good content.

Or in extreme cases, a bot.

Because the reason people follow personal brand accounts.

Is for the person.

And for the person to be followed.

It requires 3 things.

Good content.

Solid personality.

And interaction with the community.

And that’s the thing most people don’t get.

Comments aren’t just a growth hack.

They’re your heartbeat on the platform.

The thing that keeps your account alive and in rhythm.

Because when you comment, you’re not just “engaging.”

You’re building relationships.

You’re keeping your name in people’s heads.

You’re staying active in the ecosystem.

The algorithm rewards activity.

But more importantly, people reward familiarity.

When someone sees your name pop up enough times, they start to remember you.

And when they remember you, they start to engage with you.

That’s how you build loyal followers who actually give a shit about what you say.

It’s not just about exposure.

You don’t need to be dropping essays under every post.
