Visual platforms like Pinterest already function as narrative spaces where users imagine future behaviors. AI could amplify this by reinforcing participatory storytelling at scale. #snhusmm#SocialMediaMarketing#AI

Great reminder that social media growth is not linear and often compounds over time through consistency and value-driven content. A motivating example of how sustained effort can lead to meaningful results.

I just hit 4,000 followers 🥳
1 year ago:
→ 0 impressions
→ 0 users on own․page
2 months ago:
→ 100K impressions
→ 900 users
Now:
→ 4M impressions 📈
→ 1,400 users 🤩
Consistency compounds.
Growth is not linear.
If I can do it, so can you! Keep going!
We’re all competing in the attention economy — and attention has become the scarcest resource in marketing. This article breaks down why brands must earn focus, not just impressions.

How many of you are using AI for research? A few months ago, I noticed one of the ‘recommendations’ I got included UTM tracking—and honestly, it makes sense. The bigger question is: how much can we trust AI-generated results if companies can influence what we see? #snhusmm
A new study showed that AI referral traffic to ecommerce sites has grown by 3900% over the last 18 months.
In the process it also exposed some unique cheat codes SEO Stuff (https://t.co/wKpf0EILTx) has been using to get customers traffic + sales from ChatGPT and Google in 2025.
Here is how you can apply the lessons to your business without hiring expensive outside help.
Also, check out the ecommerce SEO Stuff case study I'll link to in the replies.

Alright...
The new Semrush x Statista 2025 E-Commerce Report confirmed what we have been tracking across SEO Stuff (https://t.co/wKpf0EILTx) for months.
I'll link to the full report below, but AI-driven search traffic is now measurable, growing at an exponential rate and completely redefining how visibility works across the internet.
Let’s start with the data, because the numbers tell the story.
1. Between January 2024 and June 2025, AI referral traffic to ecommerce sites grew from about 100,000 monthly visits to more than 4 million.
That is a 3900% increase, or a 35x lift in 18 months.
That said, organic search still drives over 1.2 billion monthly visits, which is roughly 300x more than AI traffic.
What that means is simple.
AI visibility is not replacing traditional SEO yet, it is compounding on top of it.
If you are not visible in Google’s organic layer, you are not even in the dataset that AI systems learn from.
But once you are, that same SEO foundation can turn into citations, summaries, and recommendations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Bing.
2. The report segmented AI traffic by assistant and retailer type.
The differences are significant and create specific opportunities for optimization.
Pure-Play Ecommerce (Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Temu)
ChatGPT was the clear growth engine.
Amazon grew 466%.
eBay grew 812%.
Etsy grew 606%.
Temu grew 1256%.
Copilot grew 581% on eBay and 224% on Etsy.
Perplexity showed mixed results, including a 55% decline for eBay.
This shows that ChatGPT currently drives the majority of AI-layer traffic for online-only retailers, but Microsoft’s Copilot is gaining traction through its integrations.
Omnichannel Retail (Walmart, Target, Home Depot, CVS)
ChatGPT grew 696% at Home Depot and 415% at Target.
Copilot exploded with 1021% growth at Walmart and 5582% growth at CVS.
Gemini and Perplexity showed moderate double and triple digit increases.
The takeaway is that each assistant has a distinct discovery behavior.
ChatGPT dominates research-mode searches.
Copilot leads task-mode searches.
Gemini is gaining traction in mobile and local contexts.
3. Consumer adoption has already hit mainstream levels.
66% of Americans know what AI shopping assistants are.
61% have used ChatGPT to research or buy a product.
57% have used a dedicated AI shopping assistant in the last 9 months.
This means more than half of online shoppers already use AI as part of their buying journey.
The funnel is changing faster than expected, and discovery is now happening before users even reach Google.
This is the first major traffic shift since the rise of mobile search in 2010.
4. AI referral traffic behaves differently once it lands on a site.
Consumers identified the biggest friction points when shopping through AI interfaces:
58% worry about data privacy.
42% dislike over-targeted ads.
40% are frustrated by the lack of human support.
37% have general privacy concerns.
31% say AI recommendations feel inaccurate.
The insight here is critical.
People love the convenience but still do not trust the interface.
AI systems reflect this same bias in how they rank and cite content.
They prioritize structure, clarity, and credibility.
That means:
Schema markup for brand and product entities.
Visible refund and support information.
Consistent entity data across all listings.
Clean HTML that machines can read.
Trust and structure are not just conversion factors. They are ranking signals in AI search.
5. The study also showed that AI referrals tend to land higher in the funnel.
Instead of sending users directly to product pages, assistants are linking to category pages, buying guides, and educational content.
This aligns perfectly with what we have seen at SEO Stuff (https://t.co/wKpf0EILTx).
AI engines prefer structured comparison content because it helps them answer questions directly.
That is why so many brands are already being cited in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews as the sources for their own mentions.
(I went into a lot of detail about this in my post from 2 days ago; scroll down and find it.)
Their blogs are formatted correctly.
Clean HTML.
Numbered lists.
Factual summaries.
Updated timestamps.
That is exactly what LLMs look for when deciding which URLs to surface.
6. The report ends with a clear recommendation.
Marketers should start optimizing for visibility across AI surfaces by focusing on product descriptions, structured data, and conversational queries.
That is what we call AI Search Optimization.
It connects traditional SEO with the new AI discovery layer.
To execute, your site needs:
Question-based H2s with concise 2 to 4 sentence answers.
Machine-readable trust data like schema and freshness.
Conversational phrasing for AI retrieval.
A 30 to 90 day refresh cycle for recency.
Aligned entity data across your entire domain.
If you are not doing this, AI systems cannot accurately see or represent your brand, even if you rank in Google.
7. The 35x growth in AI referrals proves that assistants are absorbing the top of the funnel.
They are replacing the list of 10 search results with one synthesized answer.
The winner is no longer who ranks first in Google.
It is who gets quoted, summarized, and cited inside AI results.
That is where SEO Stuff was built to help.
SEO Stuff Gold Plan
https://t.co/yEFyM0Ze7W
10 long-form, AI-quotable articles
3 DR50+ backlinks for authority
It works because AI assistants quote the same content that Google ranks, but only when it is structured clearly enough to extract.
SEO Stuff Premium Content Bundle

60 comparison and best-of articles
Conversational headings, TLDRs, and freshness indicators
Internal linking and factual summaries
Optimized for both AI and Google ecosystems
This plan scales your brand across every layer of search.
Publishing at this level builds topical authority, which is the single strongest entity signal in AI search.
Together, the Gold Plan and Premium Content Bundle turn your site into an AI citation engine.
They build Google authority, feed structured data to LLMs, and strengthen trust signals that drive conversions.
8. AI referral traffic grew 35x in 18 months and has not even come close to saturation.
The next 18 months will decide which brands become the default entities that AI assistants cite in every category.
Starting now means your content becomes part of the training data that future models use.
Waiting means you will end up summarized beneath your competitors.
The brands that invest in structure, freshness, and trust now will own AI search visibility by 2026.
AI assistants are now a permanent part of the buying journey.
Google SEO remains the foundation, but AI Search Optimization determines who gets surfaced, summarized, and trusted inside those answers.
That is what SEO Stuff (https://t.co/wKpf0EILTx) was designed to do.
