An American charged under UAPA has been allowed to "leave India" hoping he will come back (news: HE WON'T).
Shockingly, the NIA did not oppose it & has allowed the US national charged with terrorism to fly home.
Meanwhile, Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, & others charged under UAPA remain in jail without bail for almost 6 years while their trial hasn't even begun.
Muslim accused in India = No rights
American terrorism accused = gets to go home
No rights for our citizens but red carpet for American terror accused. This is what happens when the PM is communal as well as a cowardly servant of Trump.

Seema Khanna is the Director General (IT), Election Commission of India. She joined the ECI in 2025 on deputation from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), under MeitY. https://t.co/5VPixNYw43 + https://t.co/C6KepTPcOl + PhD in Information Security , IIT Delhi.
At NIC, she worked on government technology infrastructure and was part of the team involved in Aarogya Setu.
Seema Khanna heads the ECI’s IT division. On 22 January 2026, ECI launched ECINET, integrating 40+ ECI apps and portals. ECINET is the digital infrastructure through which electoral-roll work is processed, a technology no longer merely a support function, it is a “strategic enabler.”

The EROs are statutory authorities responsible for additions, corrections and deletions in electoral rolls under the Representation of the People Act, 1950. Yet ECI records show repeated concerns that their access was being restricted by the central IT system.
▪️Deputy Election Commissioner Sanjay Kumar had written to Seema Khanna stressing that the IT system must not restrict the statutory powers of EROs.
▪️4 November 2025: Deputy Election Commissioner Sanjay Kumar raised concerns with Khanna about EROs' access to the software.
▪️2 January 2026: Kumar again wrote to Khanna, asking that the IT system not restrict the statutory powers of EROs.
▪️22 January 2026: ECI launched ECINET, integrating 40+ applications and portals.
the centralisation of the voter database and restrictions on Electoral Registration Officers (EROs).
▪️In May 2026, Election Commissioner Vivek Joshi proposed an independent IIT-expert audit to certify that no one except statutory authorities had credentials to alter the voter database.
▪️On August 14,Sukhbir Singh Sandhu specifically recorded that DG (IT) Seema Khanna has no legal authority to restrict the access and freedom given by law to statutory EROs
▪️Can the ECI's central IT machinery override, restrict or otherwise control the statutory authority of EROs who are legally responsible for electoral rolls?

▪️ Maneesh Garg — Senior Deputy Election Commissioner, 1996-batch IAS officer, Himachal Pradesh cadre.
▪️Maneesh Garg Deputy Election Commissioner, ECI the post held by him has been granted a one-year extension at the Additional Secretary level, up to September 1, 2027. Garg has been with the ECI since September 2024,before that he was Himachal Pradesh CEO.
▪️On July 28, 2026, while holding additional charge of administration, Garg changed the ECI’s work allocation.
▪️The order removed Deputy Election Commissioner Sanjay Kumar from the oversight chain of DG(IT) , the very chain through which IT matters were being routed to the Commission.
▪️Sandhu and Joshi objected and separately wrote to the Cabinet Secretary.
▪️The two Commissioners subsequently set Garg’s order aside and restored the earlier arrangement pending consensus.
◾Abhishek Banerjee publicly named Seema Khanna over Bengal's SIR, alleging she admitted in a private conversation that the EC's 1.36 crore "logical discrepancy" figure was wrong and said he had screenshots of the exchange.
◾A PIL has now reportedly been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a judicial, SIT investigation into alleged SIR irregularities and naming Gyanesh Kumar, Maneesh Garg and Seema Khanna among the respondents. The petition reportedly seeks preservation of ECINet server logs, databases, communications and metadata from October 1, 2025 onward. The server logs + user access logs + timestamps + database-change history + administrator credentials + audit trails + communications + software change records.
These things that could actually establish who changed what, when, from where, and under whose credentials.
GeoLibre v3.1.0 is here!
GeoLibre is a free and open-source, lightweight, cloud-native GIS platform for visualizing, exploring, and analyzing geospatial data. It runs everywhere you do, in the web browser, on the desktop, on mobile, and inside Jupyter notebooks, all while keeping your data local and private.
This release brings Mapbox GL JS and the ArcGIS Maps SDK in as full rendering engines next to MapLibre and Cesium, turns the 3D globe into a live situation room with the new God's Eye View plugin, and adds OAuth sign-in for sharing your maps.
What's new in v3.1.0
- Four rendering engines: switch the whole workspace between MapLibre, Mapbox, Cesium, and ArcGIS from the View menu. Your layers, styles, popups, and most plugins come along, and GeoLibre remembers your choice.
- ArcGIS in 2D and 3D: native ArcGIS services, 3D scenes with terrain and extrusion, PMTiles, Zarr, and NetCDF, plus print atlases, all on the ArcGIS engine.
- God's Eye View: watch live earthquakes, satellite orbits, active fires, transit, traffic cameras, live traffic flow, and ship positions on the Cesium globe.
- Secure sharing: sign in with OAuth on the web and desktop, and share projects with view, comment, or edit roles, link expiry, passwords, and revocation.
- A faster AI Assistant: talk to it with avoice commands, get simple map commands done in under a second, pick OpenRouter as a provider, and find Whitebox tools by describing what you want.
- New data plugins: Fields of the World agricultural field boundaries, Satellite Embeddings from foundation models such as AlphaEarth, and IGN LiDAR HD point clouds for France.
- More languages and links: Hebrew joins the right-to-left locales, and new ?stac= links open a STAC catalog straight from a URL.
This release landed 220 pull requests from 15 contributors, and 8 people made their first contribution to GeoLibre. Thank you to everyone who filed an issue, reviewed a change, or sent a patch.

The History-Sheeter by @drkafeelkhan is a powerful account of how dissent can be turned into a crime. Dr Kafeel Khan’s story is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing—and a stark warning about what happens when malevolent state power is used to silence conscientious and patriotic citizens who are giving their lives for the service of the country. A must read.
Justice Sharma’s son on 4 top government panels. No wonder he mutes audio of Gyanesh Chor’s daughter’s hearing, stays her fine & also dissents with Justice Datta & does not hold CEC appointment process illegal. Judiciary is protector - cannot be predator.
This tweet about the role of the SC in allowing the collapse of our democracy was written over 6 years ago. At that time a senior retired judge of the SC said, “You have not seen the worst yet. You will see even worse in the years to come”. When I watch the capitulation of the judiciary to a fascist executive today, I marvel at how prophetic he was. Compared to what is happening today in the judiciary, 2020 almost seems like a golden age!
Open-source hardware finally has a homepage.
7,600+ designs you can actually browse.
1) Browse by hardware: robotics, RF, power, IoT, keyboards...
2) Browse by platform: ESP32, Arduino, STM32, Raspberry Pi, RP2040, FPGA...
3) Open any project directly in our browser EDA + MCAD
But finding the design is only the start.
AI lives right next to the editor and understands the project you have open.
Ask how the circuit works. Ask why a component is there. Explore the PCB + mechanical design. Then fork it, change it, and make it yours.

p.s. we're not trying to make another place to store hardware files. we're trying to make hardware searchable, understandable, and editable.

A US frontier AI lab (TypeSafe AI) just announced a "breakthrough" System 1 architecture. The problem? An independent Indian developer built, published, and open-sourced the exact same single-pass RL architecture a full year ago.
The frontier lab generalized it, slapped a new acronym on it, and claimed it as a novel invention. The open-source community keeps doing the heavy lifting in the shadows. This is why we need to be wary of corporates!

Indian universities publish a very large number of research papers.
One man decided to actually read some of them.
What he found was papers bought and sold, fake authors, and journals that will print anything for a fee.
His name is Achal Agrawal.
He has a doctorate in applied mathematics from Paris Saclay University in France, completed in 2016. His research was on how wireless networks share resources.
He came back to India in 2018 and worked as an academic in data science.
Then he started something called India Research Watch.
To understand why it matters, you need to know how academic promotion works. A researcher's career depends heavily on how many papers they have published, and in which journals. More papers means promotion, funding and rank for the institution.
That creates a market.
If papers are what you are counting, somebody will sell you papers.
So there are now services that will write a paper for you, or sell you an authorship slot on somebody else's, or publish anything you send them in a journal that exists only to collect the fee. The industry has a name. Paper mills.
India Research Watch went looking for this in Indian institutions, and published what it found.
In 2024, Agrawal and Moumita Koley at the Indian Institute of Science raised a further problem. They flagged evidence that some universities may have been manipulating the numbers used in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the government's official ranking of colleges and universities.
That is the list parents look at when deciding where to send their children.
In 2025 the framework changed. It began penalising institutions with high numbers of retracted papers. A retracted paper is one a journal has withdrawn after publication, usually because something in it was wrong or fabricated.
India Research Watch's work is credited with contributing to that change.
Also in 2025, the journal Nature named him in Nature's 10, its annual list of people who shaped science that year.
That list normally contains people who discovered something.
He is on it for checking.

Talk about the civilization - Mackenzie alleged John had raped her at age 19 in her memoir, "High on Arrival," published in 2009. "I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father," she wrote. "I don't remember..."
In case local AI models are banned, it's critical you start experimenting with them now
Luckily Hermes just released an awesome feature that makes it easy for ANYONE to get started, no matter what computer you have
It will literally determine which model is best for you, then load it and run it. No technical work required at all
Just go into the Hermes desktop app then go to settings, providers, then local models.
From there is will recommend which model you should be running on your computer. Even if you're running a dirt cheap Mac Mini
You click 'set up for me' and it handles EVERYTHING for you
In no time you'll have literal unlimited intelligence running locally on your computer
No excuses. Do this ASAP
GeoLibre now supports Mapbox as a rendering engine, alongside MapLibre and Cesium.
With Mapbox integration, GeoLibre can take advantage of the Mapbox ecosystem for high-performance mapping, rich cartographic styling, and interactive geospatial visualization.
More rendering capabilities and integrations are coming soon.
