AIMSA-FMSW & AFA Wrote to NBEMS Seeking Transparency and Fairness in FMGE June 2026 Examination

The All India Medical Students’ Association – Foreign Medical Students’ Wing (AIMSA-FMSW) and the All FMGs Association (AFA) have officially wrote a representation to the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) regarding the concerns raised by candidates who appeared in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted on 28 June 2026.

As organizations committed to safeguarding the interests of Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs), AIMSA-FMSW and AFA have urged NBEMS to take note of the genuine concerns expressed by thousands of candidates and to undertake an appropriate review of the examination process.

The representation highlights the following key issues:

🗣️Lack of transparency in the FMGE evaluation process, including the non-availability of answer keys and response sheets.
🗣️Introduction of approximately 28 Video-Based Questions (VBQs) without prior notification, which reportedly affected candidates’ ability to manage examination time effectively.
🗣️An unexpectedly increased difficulty level that many candidates believe was inconsistent with the objective of a screening examination.
🗣️Reports of inadequate examination centre facilities, including poor ventilation, excessive heat, and conditions that reportedly caused physical distress to some candidates during the examination.
The significant decline in the passing percentage in the June 2026 FMGE, warranting a comprehensive review of the examination process.

Through this representation, AIMSA-FMSW and AFA have requested NBEMS to strengthen transparency in the examination process, review the impact of the unexpected examination pattern, investigate complaints regarding examination centres, and consider appropriate remedial or compensatory measures for candidates who may have been adversely affected.

Both organizations reaffirm that their objective is not to seek dilution of academic standards, but to ensure that every candidate is assessed through a fair, transparent, accountable, and predictable examination process consistent with the principles of natural justice.

AIMSA-FMSW and AFA remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of Foreign Medical Graduates across the country. The associations will continue to engage constructively with the concerned authorities and pursue all legitimate and democratic avenues until the genuine concerns of FMGE candidates are duly addressed.

How many more lives and families must be devastated before the concerns around the #FMGExam are addressed?
I respectfully urge Hon’ble Health Minister Shri J. P. Nadda and Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to take immediate notice of the issues being raised by FMG students and ensure a fair, transparent, and accountable examination process.
One student has already been lost. Around 33,000 students are deeply distressed after the recent results. Their voices deserve to be heard.
No exam should ever become a reason for a student to lose hope—or life.

I appeared for #FMGEJune2026. After the exam, I carefully recalled my answers and verified them with standard references. I was expecting around 174 marks, but my result shows only 149.
