I have always been a shy person.
Shy to start talking with someone, shy to speak in public, and shy to share what I am doing and thinking.
I have shed away most of my shyness but one still remains โ sharing what I am doing and thinking.
I think I know the problem with using AI for writing:
Even if you manage to get the AI to produce something good, you have no relationship to the words it's written
You neither care about them, nor dislike them, nor believe them, nor disbelieve them. You neither love nor hate them
You have no connection โ intellectual, emotional, or somatic โ with the chunk of text that's magically appeared before your eyes
And this is a problem because all human motivation is based on caring
If you don't care about a piece of text, you can't build on it, nor do you even have the motivation to critique or argue against it
That chunk of text acts like an anti-memetic mass โ it slides out of your mind as easily as it slid in, which makes it impossible to remember or integrate into your thinking
There's no friction, and thus no sticking points for your mind to grab ahold of
And yet, you also feel attached to it somehow. Because you did, in a way, sacrifice something in order to produce it โ you sacrificed your creative process
It feels like an asset, but it's an asset that actively consumes and destroys other, more valuable assets, such as time, attention, focus, and imagination
It's like having a little back hole in your pocket, that you know is sucking in all the information and attention you have available into its event horizon
Yet you can't bring yourself to throw it away, because you keep wondering if somehow, maybe, that black hole could be put to use. Maybe you can figure out a way to reverse the entropic tide and get it to cough up all the precious things it's destroyed
But the more time passes, the less likely you'll ever get out more than you put in
Like a gambler doubling down on their losing bet again and again, you can only go deeper into attentional debt because the pain of cutting your losses is too painful to face
@pra8eek I would say every citizen of the country needs to know a little accurate information about the country, minus the sensitive information if necessary.
If you are ok with fake news in this scenario, in what other scenarios are you ok with it?

I imagining what would be the future once AI starts doing everything for humans.
I see a future where humans don't do any work and everything is done by AI. At that point humans would relax and get fed by the work of the AI.
We will become cats for our AI overlords.
@awilkinson Tangential: I am a backend engineer and can't design a good UI. What tool lets me create a great Figma design for software that I am building?
