paper alert! New light on the physics of turbulent radiative mixing layers ubiquitous in astrophysics! A lot of hard work from our undergraduate student Arnav Kumar!
celebrated the career of my dear collaborator Biman Nath at RRI in a cosy 2-day conference at @RRI_Bangalore. Kudos to Kartick and the RRI family for organizing it so thoughtfully! @IiserMohali is in for a treat where he joins soon as a visiting professor.
2024 ICTP Prize for Ranjan Laha!
This is fantastic news! My dear friend, frequent collaborator, and fellow explorer of the dark side — Ranjan Laha (IISc) wins the ICTP Prize! Congratulations to both winners!

an exciting paper posted by Mukesh Bisht, a PhD student at @RRI_Bangalore on modeling cold gas in galactic atmospheres! Terrestrial clouds in a hydrostatic atmosphere are a close analogy.
Vey excited to share my first observational work using #Chandra's high resolution grating spectra.
Check the paper out on arXiv for more details : https://t.co/slK4BWWtfr

@Apple, @AppleSupport I have used Mac laptops since 2006. I had bad experience recently in India after I purchased an M2 mac (in July) for my daughter who started college in August. Within 10 days, a motherboard failure (covered by warranty) occurred. Macbook airs in our house:
@Apple, @AppleSupport I wondered if this is how customers are teated in India, because I have had much better experience in past (outside India). Or you are no longer the customer friendly company that it used to in the past? The whole experience has been quite an ordeal for us.
Within a few months in college, her macbook air's screen started flickering, eventually covering half of the screen. After she came home for Diwali for a few days, I took the faulty laptop to Apple approved center near us hoping that it will be covered under 1 yr warranty.
If you know anyone (incl. yourself) interested in a DPhil at Oxford in plasma/astro, here are the projects for 10/2025 start. We have quite a few this year, and a fair amount of funding, so not only is this the opportunity of a lifetime but it's also real. https://t.co/AGsoWcyuiz

Hard to disagree.
New paper with @PrateekIISc and our firecracker student making his publishing debut, @ManishTamta10.

145 years ago, Albert Michelson measured the speed of light more accurately than anyone had before. Learn about his groundbreaking work at the @NavalAcademy, now an #APSHistoricSite, in #APSnews: https://t.co/EoublXc0GI. #PhysicsHistory
Thanks to videos edited by the course students, here are videos from the Galaxies and Interstellar Medium PhD course that I just finished teaching! Will upload all the lectures soon. Hope these are useful.
