Helping people who feel marginalized is good. He says so himself. The trouble starts when a good cause becomes an institution.

The first few witches were real. Then you open a witch office. Now there are salaries, budgets and pensions to justify, and the office needs a steady supply of witches to keep existing.

That’s the trap. Once a cause becomes a career, solving the problem means losing your job. So the problem never gets solved. It just keeps getting redefined.

Independent journalists are being widely praised for their coverage of the ongoing protests in Delhi. But what lies behind this carefully cultivated image of independence?

These journalists openly give protesters a platform, take their side during confrontations, and even obstruct police action. Their conduct during protests is there for everyone to see.

I decided to put some of these self-proclaimed independent journalists to the test. Using a fake email ID, I approached several of them with a proposal to create Instagram videos for the SP ahead of the 2027 UP elections.

What happened next? They responded with work samples and quoted their prices for producing political content. I’m sharing screenshots of the email replies I received from each of them as evidence.

With all due respect Rajdeep, but I have to ask, if the committee members are not coming and speaking to your channel, how is it okay to give the ‘perpetrator’ the mic and an opportunity to explain? Shouldn’t he have done that in the committee rather than on a tv screen? Politics aside, for me this is about women’s rights for redressal, don’t you as a journalist agree the MP should step down till proven innocent? Same thumb rule as the demand for Kuldeep Sengar and Brij Bhushan resignation? No? BJP protected them then, INC as of not hasn’t taken action now- that’s the only politics.
Lastly, you don’t need to assure me of anything at all about being free, fair and covering all angles, let the country decide that. You have a great day too.
