How wonderful it is to design my cousin's home -our references are invariably from our grandparents'/ ancestral homes. That clear storey window from Mullai home, the skylight from Gopal thata's home, that niche to store oil in Patti's kitchen, Vaithee thata's curved verandah....

Assumed I'd be working on historic buildings when I finished my PG studies in Architectural Conservation. Only been doing home renovations, oldest one being 27 yrs.
Saw a peer's work on a historic building and realised how I put my conservation studies to use.

Mondays to Wednesdays are spent trying to get into my head and into the rhythm of drawing. Work grows onto me on Thursdays , Fridays are better. By the time I am my most productive, it's Saturday. I enjoy working on Saturdays, I step into work fully feeling my best.

Of all the various agencies involved in the construction industry, I feel that painters have a relatively easy job.
No heavy lifting, exposure to dust or noise, it's not highly technical. It is probably therapeutic too!
