Another win for the democratization of thrombectomy. MR CLEAN late results just presented at @WorldStrokeOrg meeting showed benefit of EVT within 6-24 hrs when patients are selected based on presence of collaterals on CTA, rendering CTP, MRI & perfusion software non-essential.

Timely publication of our paper during times of national contrast media shortage !!
In the early time window, CTP based selection for thrombectomy does not yield better clinical outcomes or stronger benefit over medical therapy alone compared with no CTP. https://t.co/txyQ2AjVxG
Honored to present results of #BAOCHE on behalf of BAOCHE investigators @ESOC’22 today. 212 BA occlusion pts, randomized within 6-24 to Solitaire AB vs BMT. No large core on CT/MRI.
EVT beneficial w NNT of 4.5. We now have evidence supporting EVT for BA occlusion up to 24 hrs !!
The final clinical trial presentation at this year's @ESOstroke conference sees @TudorGJovin deliver results from the BAOCHE study. These results are similar to those from ATTENTION and further support #EVT use in basilar artery occlusion, he notes #ESOC2022@ESOstroke
