This is one of the single best business ideas I’ve ever heard of.
So many people enact Shakespearean theater at work by engaging others in useless meetings and gatherings. Stop these useless meetings and do something measurable and valuable instead.
The big insight is that by eliminating so many meetings, they’ve made so many (bad) ideas become default no vs default yes.
I suspect, over time, what Shopify finds by doing this is it forces real rigor in order to get projects over the line. The result is less bureaucracy, less politics, higher success and more efficiency.
This probably helps keep the A/A+ talent and weeds out the Bs and Cs. A win/win for everyone.

They're speaking to their buyers as humans, first. People who are stressed about failure, or feeling blind to the tools needed to move the needle.
Super clear, accessible language.
Only way to improve would be to explicitly mention who their target buyers are. But still, A+!
💯 and realistically, financial independence / living below your means is key. if a job aligns with your values, great. if not, oh well. the ultimate luxury is to choose how you spend your time.
Your work does not define your worth.
A career is what you do—it doesn’t have to reflect who you are. Making a job part of your identity is an option, not an obligation.
Your impact in the world doesn’t depend on how you make a living. It derives from how you live your values.
Mixpanel is designed to be an extension of how you see the world — not as columns and rows like a spreadsheet.
It’s about observing events & behaviors: You go to lunch at a deli. Watch a movie at night. Order breakfast on your phone. Buy an airline ticket to another country.
Let me be blunt. Those who are afraid of AI feel deep down that they are impostors & have no edge. If you have a 1) clear mind, 2) a deep, not just cosmetic, undertanding of your specialty, 3) and/or are original enough to reinvent yourself when needed, AI will be your friend.

Like he writes “quality is hard”.
There is no framework, data or silver bullet that get you to quality. It’s an ongoing effort every day. Quality is the way your work.
Mixpanel made all pricing plans (including Enterprise tier) public. Kind of a big deal for b2b SaaS. In this industry, change is HARD. Feels incredible to be part of it. https://t.co/g71YqnTdva
“For years, Apple’s marketing has focused on taking cinematic photos and videos.” The new gen is also “drawn by AirDrop” features. (Tbh never got this feature to work consistently but ok, interesting?) https://t.co/7JjqrXIHGP
Convinced that mattress industry marketers are indeed the best in our biz, not consumer tech folks. Now choosing between “legendary, advanced, and ultimate” comfort levels for a NASA grade household item.🤌
My interview with @Comparably where I talk about hiring and culture was just published. There’s also some advice in there for new grads and new managers. Hope you find it interesting. https://t.co/TPIWORpgjx
