@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret Does Rory actually believe the average American citizen feels better off on the back of their economy's performance? I was shocked how expensive it is, having visited for the first time in 20 years! The economy is benefitting the billionaires mainly. Wealth inequality is the key.
@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret Furthermore, mental health issues and suicides rates in the farming sector is already high. This may well push many over the edge. If this was intended to get at those playing the system go after them specifically. Don't wreck an entire industry and put our food security at risk!
@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret £5k - £6k per acre?! It's more like £10k - £12k per acre. It have a massively disproportionate impact compared to the £500m it will raise. Any farm over 75 acres with a farmhouse will be impacted by the change. That's most family farms.
Is it really worth f*ckng family farms, undermining food security, forcing land clearances and fire sales of agricultural assets, breaking the continuity of generations of stewardship, just to raise a measly £500m to chuck into the black hole? Asking for farmers.
@RachelReevesMP Are farmers not "working people"?! The average farm value is £3m. You've now imposed a tax bill of £400k on the death of each parent. In an industry that is really struggling. Forcing the sale of land to corporates. Putting food security at risk and devastating the Rural economy.
The average UK farm size is 217 acres so has a value of c£3m. Obviously the chancellor knew this.
£2m taxed at 50% relief means every farm bequeathed will be liable to £400k in ITax.
The end of farming as we know it.
Clever really as it releases land for wind/solar farms and house building and ensures the globalist agenda of shipping food around the globe 🤷♂️
The Chancellor’s budget is a disaster for tenant farmers.
Small family-owned farms will be hit by the changes to inheritance tax and will be forced to sell up, with young people robbed of their opportunity to farm.
We’ll be fighting tooth and nail to protect family farms.
In 2023 @Keir_Starmer looked farmers in the eye & said he knew what losing a farm meant.
Farmers believed him.
After today’s budget they don’t believe him any more.
#BackBritishFarming
@RestIsPolitics The change to Agriculture Property relief will further decimate family farms. Driving land and hence food production into the hands of large corporates for "net zero" scams and large scale factory farming. It will hole the Rural economy below the waterline. Yet barely a mention!
Chris Patten, the sort of intelligent, morally-driven Tory that was permanently ostracised under the Johnson clownshow, has committed another murder.
He’s so angry he even swears twice.
I could watch this all day.
Absolutely superb, as always. 👏
@mrjakehumphrey@Dan_Turner90 You're missing the point. It is unlike any previous case. In the case the match officials all knew it was a goal. They chose to not to comply with the rules. Thus they broke the Laws of the Game and therefore opened up the potential for a replay. It is unprecedented.
@LivEchoLFC@ConnorOn95 The article says the VAR didn't realise the infield decision was offside. But the audio very clearly shows he did know that. He just thought the images and lines showed he was OFFSIDE. He says "yeah, offside". The only person who knew it was onside was the replay operator.
@robbohuyton What it clearly shows is that the VAR and AVAR clearly thought it was actually OFFSIDE! It wasn't until the replay guys tells them it's onside after the restart that they realise what they had actually seen was onside. So incredibly poor. Just abysmal.
@TeleFootball@HACKETTREF It's remarkable in that it shows the received narrative is wrong. It clearly shows both the VAR and AVAR thought it was actually OFFSIDE even though it was clearly on. He says offside when asked to confirm. Not until the replay operator points out its on does anyone realise!
@neiljonesgoal One thing it doesn't do is confirm the received narrative. It seems to suggest that the VAR actually thought it WAS offside. He says. "Offside. Goal. Yes." When asked to confirm. I think he thought the lines showed it was offside. Only later realising it was onside.
