@SlowToWrite Just an example of more boomer modernist bullshit going against 2000 years of church history for the sake of worldly peace and not eternal salvation. Wonder if he knows that the Pope used to have his own executioner? https://t.co/8wcmTt9bgW
Hi dipshit educate yourself. It eas only in 2018 that Francis revised the Catechism of the Catholic Church to declare the death penalty "inadmissible" in all cases, describing it as an attack on human dignity. But this was not done under papal Infallibility (ex cathedra) which requires the pope to speak in his official capacity as universal teacher, with the explicit intention to define a doctrine of faith or morals as irrevocable. So a modernist pope went against 2000 years of church teaching 8 years ago and at any point any future pope could change it and its not a requirement for the laity to believe it because it was not an infallible teaching. On top of that the Papal States literally held their own executioner. Look up Giovanni Bugatti the last Papal executioner.
Or come to the conclusion that democracies are not actually the best form of government. Never have been and never will be. Every example of a democracy in history has always collapsed for very similar reasons. Either people started voting themselves free shit or too many people were enfranchised with competing interests and not enough of a stake in what made the original culture/system work.
