3. Chip supported anti-Trump Congresswoman Liz Cheney against the President
4. Chip supported President Trump’s impeachment
5. Chip has consistently played hardball with the President. In Congress, he’s held up the MAGA agenda over and over again to serve himself
6. President Trump calls him “3 AM Chip” because Chip would often call, telling the President he can’t support MAGA legislation

I don’t ever like calling someone a liar. It’s a harsh word. I’m certainly not calling Chip Roy a liar.

I woke up this morning despondent from the news cycle running all day long in my head. The hubs and I have a morning ritual of a couples devotional from a cute little couples God time book I found on some random shopping trip. As always the message from God comes when I despair and forget that I am not in charge of my own destiny and to let go and trust. I am always amazed at the power of the Holy Trinity when I feel like giving up on society.

Here was the opening scripture, thoughts and the ending in a prayer for today.

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9.

In our dangerous world, people need safe places. If you live where natural disasters are common, you need strong shelter. In times of war, persecution, oppression, and tyranny, sanctuary is a necessity. Even when there’s outward peace, trouble and turmoil, may rage internally with financial difficulties, death, sickness, or disappointment.

God is a refuge for us. He is the strongest fortress, our best defense. When we are weak, he is our citadel of strength, and our share protect protection from the evil one. The door is open. Go on in; God will keep you safe.

We live in turbulent times, politically and socially. Are you afraid of what the future may hold for you and future generations?

Thank you, Lord, for being our refuge. Help us run to you in times of trouble when we are tempted by fear and worry, remind us that you are with us, ready to shelter us from danger.
