Freedom of speech 🤣 🤣 Tell that to the professor who was arrested for sharing a cartoon. If intellectual (?) dishonesty had a face, it would look like @sagarikaghose
The dignity, the grace, the style. UN awarded policies, Durga Puja awarded by UNESCO, a growing economy, harmonious society, huge boost to tourism and the arts, freedom of speech and right to protest. She inherited a broken system and built a modern Bengal. @MamataOfficial.
I didn't expect an exasperating farrago of distortions from you @ShashiTharoor
Trikaripur assembly seat has more than 50% Hindu electors, whereas Muslims constitute around 35%
I note that some have commented upon a "missing link" in my story, asking for evidence of a Muslim majority constituency electing a Hindu candidate. This has also just happened in Trikaripur, where Sandeep Varier won for the UDF. A fourth example to reinforce my #KeralaStory!
Shashi's long post of secularism cannot hide a simple fact about Kerala elections:
Hindus elected Muslims
Muslims elected Christians
Christians elected Muslims
BUT
Together, Christians and Muslims did NOT elect Hindus.
Kerala demonstrated what has been the standard of Indian secularism.
Congratulations to Shashi Tharoor for giving Keralam a "truly secular" government. The IUML (Indian Union Muslim League), who the Congress is in alliance with, is the successor of "the" Muslim League that led to the creation of Pakistan on purely religious lines.
A Hamas leader virtually addressed a rally in Kerala in 2023. Shashi himself got into trouble for calling Hamas a terrorist organization. He had to "clarify" his stand by claiming that he is pro-Palestine. If you want certain votes in India, you can't call Hamas a terror org in 2026.
Spokespersons of both the Congress & IUML refused to call Hamas a terrorist organization in a live debate with Rajdeep just days after Oct 7. But we must gloss over these minor details, and focus on symbolic niceties that don't mean anything.
One #KeralaStory from the recent election results that communalists should note: a Muslim majority constituency, Thavanur, elected a Christian, VS Joy; a Hindu majority constituency, Kalamassery, elected a Muslim. VE Abdul Gafoor; and a Christian majority constituency, Kochi, elected a Muslim, Muhammed Shiyas. Despite some influence from the national trends in favour of identity politics, Kerala remains a model of communal harmony, a state where people see human beings first and caste or religion later

All you TMC acolytes, listen to this woman.
@_sabanaqvi@khanumarfa@_sayema and your ilk.
Listen to her and then tell us that she is lying. That the TMC govt was egalitarian. That Hindus had nothing to be scared of.
Show me one video of a Muslim saying a Hindu was trying to convert him or her.
Very true. But you were not the one to have ever fought for any of these. You championed the most despotic, corrupt, vicious, dramabaz, inhuman, arrogant, foul-mouthed, greedy and lumpen political party ever in India’s history for whatever reasons.
And many more like you, who tried their best to cover the atrocities of your party in a cloak of respectability. Somehow you came to believe that lying in English makes you appear truthful.
“Khanki magi [bloody whore]… Jaisi tumhari Hindu devi Maa Kaali nangi hai... waise hi tumko nanga karenge…” Those words still echo in my mind sometimes.
It was May 2021. After covering the Bengal Assembly elections, I returned to Bihar. Once the results were declared, reports began to surface of targeted killings of BJP workers and attacks on Hindus who were perceived to have supported or voted for the party. These incidents were not confined to a single locality. Disturbing videos began circulating widely, often shared through private messages on social media.
Around the same time, I started receiving calls from sources I had connected with during my reporting. Many of them were desperate for help. I still remember one call vividly. One of my sources was hiding in a field and said, “Sir, kuch kijiye… bacha lijiye… yeh log maar denge.” I felt completely helpless. I reached out to friends in Bengal, including some associated with the BJP, but they too were unable to offer any immediate assistance.
Eventually, I decided to return to Bengal to document what was happening on the ground. There, I met several women who alleged they had been subjected to brutal sexual violence. The TMC government denied every incident. Though there were around 100 such incidents, I managed to speak to six victims during my visit. At the time, only a handful of media outlets were reporting on these incidents, and many journalists had already left the state due to alleged threats from TMC goons.
What stood out most during my reporting was the alleged pattern of targeted violence, including sexual assault against women from families of BJP supporters. In several cases, families claimed that married women had been abducted and that money was demanded for their release. One particularly harrowing account involved an elderly woman who was assaulted in front of her family and later poisoned, though she survived. When I met her at a safe house where she was receiving medical treatment, she had been raped so brutally that she was unable to digest even a banana. She vomited twice in front of me after eating one.
After spending three to four days reporting from the ground, I returned and filed a cover story for the magazine @eOrganiser. The report received significant attention, as only a few journalists had remained in the field to document these accounts. #Organiser was the only media house that chose to bring the victims’ pain and grief to the forefront, featuring their stories on its cover [attached below. Faces were blurred for safety reasons].
Yesterday marked a historic moment, with @BJP4Bengal securing a massive mandate. While I was in Kolkata reporting updates on Twitter, I noticed that I still had that story pinned. It reminded me how difficult it was to write about such deep suffering. But if these stories are not told, the world may never know what people went through.
Most importantly, when you have a mentor like @prafullaketkar who places unwavering trust in you, it gives you the confidence to bring out the voice of ‘samaj ki antim pankti mein khade vyakti,’ no matter the circumstances.
I was ordered by @Lenskart_com to cut my shikha and remove my tilak. When I refused to do so, I was fired. - Zeel Soghasia
This is blatant discrimination and bigotry that goes beyond adhering to some internal memo. Mr Soghasia must be recalled and reinstated. @peyushbansal
The Hindu community was accused of casteism, and for almost a century the community has made tangible changes and systems, and sacrifices, to overcome this.
The Muslim community, worldwide, stands accused of spawning terrorism. What tangible changes or systems or sacrifices have they come up with to overcome this, except playing the victim and the bogey of “Islamophobia”? 🤔 #justasking
A group led by Mohd Shahid was recently caught circulating videos of women college-mates with text - “No Hindu girl should be left untouched”

The case that should be causing national outrage but isn’t because even this has become routine:
predatory gang in Mumbai college led by student Mohd Shahid caught circulating videos of dandiya-doing girls with messages - “Hindu girls are prostitutes. Should be assaulted. ‘Musalled’. No one should be left untouched”
Can anyone guess from this headline and text of this @htTweets report that the matter is that a male Muslim student of this college has been caught sharing text messages that ‘no Hindu girl at Garba should be left untouched’?
@swati_gs@htTweets This is the exact chat,
I saw another video of hindu organisations saying The FIR was not taken for 3/4 days, later after some pressure it was taken
2025 we have MP and MLA from BJP, So even after this things hindu org need referral for an FIR , imagine 1/n
Not a single English language newspaper has covered the gangrape of a Pakistani Hindu refugee girl in Jaisalmer by Mohd Fazal, Mohd Qurban and Mohd Shabbir
Ruling BJP’s opposition has not taken it up either, despite refugees staging protest for three weeks
Survivor is from a Scheduled Tribe, but no so-called dalit organisation has raised it
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Sharmishta Panoli:
- A certain community is their vote bank & they are doing appeasement politics.
- Mahua Moitra used derogatory language against Goddess Kali, 200 FIRs were registered. No action taken against her.
Mumbai High Court gave bail to a Muslim girl who posted pro-Pakistani content in Pune and said it is her ‘freedom of expression’.
But #Sharmishtha doesn’t have freedom of expression because she is a Hindu?
