Community dogs are part of our streets, they guard shops, greet strangers, and live quietly among us. Removing them is like taking a piece of India’s story away. Prayers, fasts, and rituals mean nothing if your heart is cruel.

1. The poorest of the poor in our society understand the pain of a dog. It's their true companion for their children and families but Animal Birth Control and Anti Rabies Vaccination is not reaching out to their areas like Polio did.

2. The ₹50 fine for murder, hanging, poisoning, acid attacks, cutting, or beating animals to death has remained unchanged since 1960. The amendment to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 languishes in the Parliament of India, while 540 Members of the Lok Sabha continue to sleep over it. This creates animal lovers and animal haters in a society.

3. There is no punishment for the rape of animals under the new BNS. We get videos for rape of dogs.

4. The mandatory SPCA in every district is missing — why?establishment of a Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is mandatory in each district of India.

5. 77 veterinary hospitals under the Delhi Government are in shambles, and the situation is the same across India.

6. The dog meat trade continues — remember Mohali Momos! It's okay in many commercial kitchens by chefs, leading to anxiety and anguish. Old dogs and young friendly dogs to missing

7. Presidents and members of RWAs and municipal corporations shun their responsibility for animal welfare leading to conflicts.

8. Animal Birth Control (ABC) centres are substandard. The removal uterus and ovaries is no joke and requires modern infrastructure and facilities, yet it’s done as if we’re in the 1800s.

9. Municipal corporations, run by politicians and bureaucrats, are not focused on animal welfare. This needs to change and requires intervention from all like-minded citizens on board.

10. There are countless other problems that have created a deep divide between the most intelligent species on this planet and the animals suffer.
