For years, the computer teachers of Punjab have been the silent architects of a digital future, teaching thousands of students the skills needed to survive in a modern world. Yet, today, these same teachers find themselves standing on roads, raising slogans, and pleading for their basic rights. Their protests are not born out of choice but out of compulsion—because promises made to them by successive governments remain unfulfilled.
Most of these teachers are highly qualified, yet they are forced to survive on contractual jobs and meagre salaries that can barely feed their families. Many of them have crossed the age of eligibility for new government jobs, and now their only hope lies in regularization. Some teachers share heartbreaking stories of being unable to pay their children’s school fees on time, others speak of struggling to meet medical expenses for their parents. It is a cruel irony that those entrusted with teaching “computer literacy” are themselves left with lives of financial darkness.
Every time a new government comes to power, they make tall promises of regularization, better pay, and job security. But once in office, the voices of these teachers are ignored. Instead of recognition for their years of service, they are treated like temporary workers who can be replaced at will. Their protests are therefore not just about money—they are about dignity, respect, and the right to live a stable life after giving their youth to the service of education.

The truth is clear: if the backbone of computer education is broken, the dream of a digital Punjab will collapse. These teachers deserve justice, not sympathy. Their demands are neither new nor unreasonable—they are simply asking for what was promised to them. The longer the government delays, the deeper the wound becomes. The struggle of these teachers is a reminder that no society can claim progress if it continues to neglect its own educators.

केजरीवाल जी पंजाब के कंप्यूटर अध्यापकों को आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार बनने पर शिक्षा विभाग में शामिल करने की गारंटी तो पूरी नहीं की। उल्टा उनका 6वा वेतन आयोग के लाभ भी रोक दिए। महंगाई भत्ता भी बंद कर दिया। नियुक्ति पत्र में दर्ज सिविल सर्विस नियम भी नहीं लागू किए। जुमले बांटे जा रहे है।
