prefix.dev

We're building the fast, deterministic and reproducible package manager Pixi for scientific and robotics workflows. Based on @condaforge & @robostack packages.

[prefix.dev @prefix_dev]

We are also working on CVE scanning for @condaforge (https://t.co/JSCoEmQPvm) which you can use through `pixi audit`: https://t.co/nPL0fKP3bJ - please try the beta and stay safe!

We helped to coordinate three security responses this week:

- Pixi 0.82.1 revokes the eMudhra certificate, please update
- PHP 8.5.12 was released by us on conda-forge
- litellm 1.107.0 quarantined and blocked on prefix

You can now publish "Channel Notices" on prefix - tell your users what's new in your channel! These will be shown in the channel overview, and in Conda, Pixi and other tools.

We’ll be at NVIDIA GTC Berlin next week!

We’ll be joining the Edge Round Table on Tuesday morning and the Startup Stack-a-thon on Wednesday.

We wrote a blog that's a little different from what we normally publish.

It's more focused towards starting out with ROS, and avoiding the complexity of installation. Is this interesting content for you? Should we make more of this?

Building bridges between open-source projects is a big part of why I joined @marimo_io.

I got to know the @prefix_dev folks through @SciPyConf, and worked together to make computational research easier to reproduce and share.

Special thanks to Julian and @rarts_ruby!

The Pixi team is at ROSCON in Toronto - come find the yellow backpacks if you want to chat! We keep spotting Pixi in so many cool robotics projects and it's making us proud. To get a glimpse of what we're working on, join the talk about the EU CRA this afternoon!

NVIDIA Isaac ROS 5.0 brings AI agents to robotics development. 🤖

Announced at #ROSCon, the release adds agentic workflows, Isaac Skills, ROS 2 Lyrical support, GPU-accelerated libraries and NVIDIA Jetson support from Orin Nano to Thor.

Open source and available now 📖 https://t.co/6idfj67AZE

If you see one of these people #ROSCON, they are likely from https://t.co/agh4KWzret! Come say hi, we're friendly! 💛

We made it easy to install Isaac ROS! The new `isaac-forge` repository contains many upstream NVIDIA Isaac ROS packages to make them installable with Pixi. You can test it today on your #NIVIDA #Jetson!

No docker needed!

Congratulations to the Mojo 1.0 release @Modular! So glad to have you in our community, and seeing @clattner_llvm on stage with `pixi` in the background was definitely a highlight for us.

https://t.co/FNitNaKpjy got a redesign and a recipe generator for PyPI, CRAN and CPAN.

Paste a package name, get a recipe.yaml back.

rattler-build now builds for iOS and Android.

Conda packages on mobile. Yes, really, we're picking up an old idea from the "conda-mobile" project.

And Android:

pixi update --offline now resolves against only what you already have: the package cache and local file:// channels.

Air-gapped machines, planes, CI without egress.

[prefix.dev @prefix_dev]

Pixi now fully supports archspec, so you can create CPU-optimized environments and let Pixi handle the installation logic.

Read more about it in the blogpost we updated:

Use pixi global to install any project from source now.

Pixi global supports the full package spec to configure the neccesary information to install it directly, without a pixi.toml.
