@Cronesie@auyonomous Exactly my thought, I go to upwork for fairly generic work, even within my industry. I have never been able to use for truly specialist work.
@notneotions@tszzl I’m not. I literally said the printing press improved things, but the idea that a machine made centuries after the discovery of many scientific observations and proofs was the “substrate” of something that already exists is simplistic and inane. Many steps along the way.
@notneotions@tszzl Not true, look into the rigor of scribes, it’s a way of life that was eliminated so we don’t think about it as much, but there was an entire class of people dedicated to copying texts accurately. Also, come on, Euclid, etc give me a break.
@notneotions@tszzl Scientific texts were reproduced reliably many centuries before Gutenberg, via the craft of the scribe. He improved it for sure, but no one event or machine did this as even the press was originally used for religious works.
@buccocapital So the goal is to create tooling that is impossible for the market to provide that has tons of value, ie developing niche tools. Then it’s worth keeping it and even paying someone to do it.
@DadInvest It sucks. When the kids were really young, they would learn like ten words from the time I left to the time I came back. That's not a good feeling, it hits you that you are missing things that happen only once.
@MikeXYZ5@MickWest@EricBurlison What is judiciary evidence? This is an arbitrary idea, ask a scientist if “judiciary level” evidence is the right way to understand if there is water on mars. Evidence is evidence.
@Achilles6996@MickWest@EricBurlison Nearly impossible to know anything with all the telemetry blanked out. It looks to me like it could be a focus issue, I’ve seen things “disappear” in my SLR when autofocus kicked in.
@DTSaskatoon@dieworkwear When I worked in Japan, the local crew of techs would show up in their blue NEC coveralls. When the day was over they would disappear for a while and come back in street clothes, some more sporty and some more dressy. They took pride in their appearance, they did this everyday.
