Built to raze? Chennai is a city where roads are dug up almost every day for some sort of civic works. Building #3D-printed #busshelters, which are permanent concrete structures, here would result in recurring costs for the @chennaicorp.

What we feared is happening !
And we MUST NOT allow it !
Tamil Nadu has reportedly lost the AMCA flight testing and integration project despite offering what the story itself describes as technically superior infrastructure conditions.
The report clearly states that the previous government under former CM @MKStalin had been in talks with DRDO for three years to anchor the project in Hosur. The DMK government offered 100 acres free of cost and proposed a 3.5 km runway at Hosur airport, making it strategically closer to ADA Bengaluru.
*Then what happened?*
The story itself uses the phrase “political considerations”. !!!
What political considerations?
How can strategic national defence investments be decided on political grounds?
This shift is grossly unfair to Tamil Nadu and deeply damaging to the credibility of cooperative #federalism.
I took several meetings on this single project and our team worked extremely hard over the last 3 years for this project and it personally deeply hurts to see this crucial project being shifted.
The present location is also not technically superior to the one that we offered in TN ! The union govt owes the people of Tamil Nadu an explanation.
One should also understand that a change in government should not matter with projects of such importance especially when Tamil Nadu is known for its policy continuity ! Am sure that the present dispensation will ensure the same.
Tamil Nadu cannot afford any drift at this moment. The state needs an agile and astute Minister for Industries immediately to aggressively pursue and protect strategic investments.
I also request Honourable @CMOTamilnadu Thiru. C.Joseph Vijay to personally step in on this issue at the earliest ! He must urgently write to the @PMOIndia and Honourable Minister for Defence Thiru @rajnathsingh explaining our location, manpower and infrastructural superiority.
Tamil Nadu must continue the strong industrial work done over the past 5 years and fight for every strategic investment that rightfully belongs here.

When Jayalalithaa assumed power in 2016, she ordered the closure of 500 TASMAC shops in the first phase. The criteria explicitly included proximity to schools and places of worship. There were roughly 6,700 TASMAC shops in the state at that time. Over the AIADMK's full tenure (10 years), a total of 1,168 shops were closed.
The Stalin-led DMK government initially closed 96 outlets in its first two years. Then, in June 2023, it ordered the closure of an additional 500 outlets from June 22, 2023 onwards — bringing the total shops down from 5,329 to 4,829. The selection criteria included proximity to religious places and educational institutions, clustering of shops, and resident complaints.
Nothing to borrow from another state machi
Even the DMK government released a white paper on the previous government. When PTR was Finance Minister he actually released it. It was much needed to understand the records and financial status of the past government.
Konchamachum padinga da ithellam, Irritated with ‘Avlo kadan iruku TN mela’, ‘every person mela kadan’ vera emotional ah solranuga 🥲..
2nd largest state economy.
Pls steer the state economy better, instead of excuses.
Some Economics for understanding… The state’s debt is estimated at 26.12% of its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). The Finance Commission typically sets a ceiling around 28-29% for states, meaning Tamil Nadu has not breached the legal cap. The fiscal deficit for 2026-27 is projected at 3% of GSDP, which is exactly on the target line recommended for state fiscal discipline.
Debt to GDP ratio is well within limits. State GDP has turbocharged like anything in the last few years. Our loans should be more towards long term infrastructure. More on Capex and less on welfare. That's the concern nobody is talking about! 🤧
Hope, TVK government will telecast assembly proceedings live instead of telling reasons like M Appavu. Transparancy matters. below is Appavu's reply to our questions on DMK's live-telecast promise in Tirunelveli. Appavu listed such reasons from 2021 to 2026.
Legal consequences seem to be waiting in the corner.
Wish they’d hired a competent legal team instead of involving a producer in the process. Easy to say “they’ll learn from mistakes’’, Its not easy peasy to be swore in - especially when GOV deliberately scrutinises them.
If the allegations of forgery by TTV Dinakaran are true, Mr Vijay will be in trouble. IUML also saying they have not given letter of support. If Vijay in his letter, as alleged by Mr Dinakaran has included the name his party MLA and IUML MLA, it is a very serious issue.
@AravindRajaOff What else can do in hung assembly? Do we require re-election, if so the Vijay factor may rise more? Or let the smaller party go for alliance and take advantage of the ministry at once, isn’t fair? ?
@dhanyarajendran Unfair, and Governor has right to ask for majority to prove? It should happen on the Assembly floor. Here's where the BJP strategy comes in, I hope TVK takes this to court.
Conflicted af, I dont want BJP dominating the govt, so the alliance is understandable. But going alliance with the party that demonising your most loyal ally, the one who stood by you in your low, feels so cheap and opportunistic.
VIDEO | Chennai: Congress leader Karti Chidambaram (@KartiPC) on Tamil Nadu election result said,
"People of Tamil Nadu have voted for change and for a government to be led by Vijay and TVK. However, they have not given a decisive mandate in the party's favor or any other party or pre-election alliance. Therefore, the Congress party respects the mandate of the people. The mandate is for a change in government, to be led by Vijay, and it should be secular. Respecting this mandate, Vijay reached out to the Congress party, and the Congress party has reciprocated by extending its support to that formation."
