In May, 3 year old Neyamiah died on the way to hospital, when after days of unscheduled outages, her oxygen machine failed.

As a mother, listening to her parents express their love for her at her funeral in May, I was shattered.

In May, we opened a case against City Power and the Minister because if there are no consequences, the same government who have appealed the judgement we won for uninterrupted energy supply to hospitals, schools and police stations, will continue to ignore the realities we face as citizens.
Today we were at the police station with Neyamiah’s father to follow up on the case. To date, nothing has happened.
We will pursue the case because we want justice for Neyamiah, for so many others whose stories we will never know and to ensure our rights as citizens are upheld.
