This is the moment that it all went downhill for Barbara Lee. Loren’s campaign just shared the emails which show that she’s lying.
When a person shows you who they are, believe them the first time. Oakland deserves a competent leader they can trust, and that’s not Lee.
Thank you, Carlos Plazola, for your endorsement and belief in my vision for Oakland. As a small business owner and former organizer, Carlos has seen firsthand the difference between federal politics and the deep local knowledge needed to run a city. With just weeks away until the election, join us in building a better, safer Oakland!

Feeling inspired by the incredible volunteers who are showing up to knock on doors!
Their passion, energy, and dedication to connecting with other Oaklanders is truly motivating. These conversations matter, and every door we knock brings us closer to real change.
Join us in getting out there, talking to neighbors, and making a difference—one conversation at a time! Who’s in? 🙌🚪
@hyphy_republic I don’t see any evidence of Loren tacking onto these people or comments. Only evidence that they are trying to tack onto him. Two different things.
@hyphy_republic Jaime, I respect you and the work you do to push for real change in oakland. I agree the hate-filled comments on Twitter are abhorrent. That said, vilifying someone solely based on the comments from a minoriry of their supporters feeds misinformation and hate.
@hyphy_republic Let’s be clear, the article you link and screenshot does NOT claim Loren defended Scott, Byrnes. It only faults him for not directly condemning Scott in his remarks at the event. The article even acknowledges that Loren’s comments were about love neighbors and embracing diversity
@hyphy_republic My comment about the fact-less clickbait nature of your original post stands. The follow-up post also stretches the truth. Loren’s attendance and comments at the rally two years were to the majority in the audience who do support LGBTQ rights AND public safety.
So many Oaklanders including this grandmother I met overwhelmingly voted to remove former Mayor Sheng Thao because they knew the city was moving in the wrong direction.
My opponent, former Congresswoman Barbara Lee, opposed the recall of Sheng Thao even after the corruption emerged.
The definition of insanity is to vote for more of the same and expect a different result. We must elect a Mayor who has experience in local government and is not beholden to the same political establishment that bankrolled Sheng Thao’s candidacy and brought the city to the brink of bankruptcy.
When I am mayor, I will make the hard choices to deliver a safe and clean Oakland and will root out corruption inside Oakland City Hall.
@PramilaJayapal@BarbaraLee_CA@PramilaJayapal I was born in and grew up in Oakland. I am now a Seattle resident, Democratic voter in your district. I appreciate Barbara’s past service in Congress BUT she is the WRONG person to lead Oakland TODAY. @lorenmtaylor is the only choice for Oakland’s Future!
The pandemic is over but yet the City of Oakland operates as though it is 2021. Opening city hall is the first step to making sure we are effectively serving our residents and businesses.
This morning, I also announced the following to support small businesses and the revitalization of our downtown.
Here’s what I will do:
1. Create a dedicated OPD unit to combat retail crime
2. Eliminate taxes for businesses with under $1.5m in revenue
3. Create a small business concierge program
4. Implement a Vacant-to-Vibrant program
5. All organizations lobbying the city must register as lobbyists
