A viral video from Mexico dating back to 2022, showing drug cartel members mutilating dead men, has been recirculated in #Manipur by some Kacha Naga groups to support their baseless claims of cannibalism by the #Kuki-Zo people. This is a cheap and malicious attempt to vilify an entire community. A humanitarian gesture of serving them decent food has been twisted into a disgusting narrative aimed at targeting one community. This must stop.

It reflects deep-seated resentment and unprovoked animosity towards Kuki people among those promoting such misinformation. This illustrates the scale of the misinformation campaigns that the Kuki-Zo people of Manipur have had to endure and painstakingly debunk.

- Mr. Haokhogin Lhouvum, a resident of Lasan village, Twilang area, IT Road was brutally murdered by NSCN-IM and ZUF(K) militants today while on his way to his farm. An innocent man, an unarmed civilian, a family man on his way to make his living, waylaid by morally bankrupt murderers who waged their dishonorable war on the innocent. He left behind a grieving wife and a young son.

May his soul rest in peace; may the perpetrators face God's wrath and judgement; may the family find justice.

Justice for Pa Haogin Lasan Vangkho Twilang Lhang

The release of the 14 Kuki hostages today should have been a moment of relief and celebration for the Kuki community and the families who had been anxiously waiting for their loved ones to return home. However, this moment has been overshadowed by the tragic and heartbreaking killing of Pa Haogin Lasan Vangkho Twilang Lhang, allegedly at the hands of #NSCN-IM and ZUF-K.

The loss of an innocent life can never be justified. While families welcomed back their sons, one family has been left in grief, pain, and mourning. The killing of Pa Haogin is a grave injustice that demands immediate attention and accountability. No individual should be subjected to violence, and those responsible must be identified and brought before the law.

We strongly condemn this brutal act and call upon the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and all concerned authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Today, we stand in solidarity with the family of Pa Haogin Lasan Vangkho Twilang Lhang. Their pain is shared by all who value peace, human dignity, and justice. We urge the authorities to ensure that the truth is uncovered and that those responsible are held accountable.

- NSCN wants Naga areas of Manipur under Nagalim and to disintegrate from Manipur, yet certain Meitei groups cheer Muivah's visit to Ukhrul after 40 years.

- With Kukis demanding separate administration, 10% of Manipur's area seems the only breeding ground for Meiteis, which they can control politically. 90% of hills under Naga and Kuki seem steering towards different tangents.

🆘️MANIPUR HOSTAGE CRISIS:

■A pathetic, half-hearted rescue mission by Manipur Police & Security Forces disintegrated into an embarrassing farce tonight as Senapati Dist Students' Assn & Naga Village Guards paraded their Kuki hostages like trophies in a humiliating spectacle & brazenly relocated them to a new hideout right before the eyes of the very forces tasked with securing their release, who stood paralyzed & watched in impotent silence.

■Far from rescuing the hostages, The Manipur police & Security forces were completely stonewalled by the kidnappers & were forbidden from making even nominal contact with the hostages.

■Under explicit threats of violence from the kidnappers, Police & security forces were forced to abort the "Rescue Mission" & beat a hasty retreat, sternly warned never to return.

■But the pathetic ease with which the state police & security forces capitulated to the diktaks of the kidnappers has left no doubt about the extent of NSCN-IM's involvement in the kidnapping & orchestrating the hostage crisis.
It also shows that the entire Manipur Police "Rescue Effort" was a hollow, theatrical performance staged for appearances.

■The cruelest irony of all is that, The 14 Kuki civilians were kidnapped in broad daylight on May 13 by the Senapati Dist Students' Assn from the escort of very same State & Central forces tasked to secure their release, who miserably failed them again tonight.
