1/5 We are about to release the PREVENT-AD Stage 2 open dataset that will include PET, MEG, … and 5 yrs of additional cognitive FU. 🥳 @alexa_pichetb @prevent_ad
Study found that Aβ and tau PET positivity in cognitively unimpaired individuals was associated with near-term progression to mild cognitive impairment and, among those who do not show such categorical change, longitudinal cognitive decline. https://t.co/sKpST7e4Nh
1/3 New lab paper suggesting, in 4 independent cohorts of cognitively unimpaired individuals, that the presence of both amyloid and tau-PET positivity is associated with near-term #AlzheimersDisease clinical progression. Strong support for the NIA-AA preclinical research criteria
Our most important clinical paper so far. In the @prevent_ad, 60% of our cognitively unimpaired participants with amyoid and tau PET binding developed MCI in ~2 years, a number that increased to 80% in those with hippocampal atrophy. The findings are replicated in 3 cohorts.
Looking for motivated Data Analyst for multimodal analyses in neurodegeneration (e.g. Alzheimer's). Mathematical, statistical, machine-learning skills and interest in neurobiology are requirements. For details, please check https://t.co/xhPxyvqnLV
Six of our researchers obtain a CIHR Project Grants
Congratulations @markpaulbrandon @MCGeoffroy R. Mizrahi, J. Poirier, @pedrorosaneto@sylv_villeneuve

Find out what the PREVENT-AD is, what data is made openly available and where to get it @NeuroLibre! Thank you to all who contributed to acquire and make this data available. We look forward to the community using the data! #openscience https://t.co/ZHt1UE4ZoM
McGill to me: “I am pleased to inform you that the Board of Governors of McGill University has approved the grant of tenure and the promotion to the rank of Associate Professor to you...” I GOT MY TENURE !!
Paper in @elife: How whole-brain gene transcripts drive interactions among tau, amyloid, CBF, structural changes and pathology spreading in Alzheimer’s and Aging? Results from multi-scale universal formulation, by brilliant PhD-candidate @technoryta, https://t.co/9Msuwktzh6
Congrats to @SivaniyaSubram for acceptance of her paper “Sex differences in brain aging among adults with family history of Alzheimer’s Disease and APOE4 genetic risk” w @j_snytte in collaboration w @arossotto@EinsteinLabUofT in NIMG:Clinical! Stay tuned for #openaccess link!
New paper from the lab suggesting that vascular risk factors are associated with a decline in resting-state functional connectivity over time in the @prevent_ad cohort. Vascular risk factors should really be more targeted for healthy aging and AD prevention.
Proud to present our latest findings on the association between vascular risk factors and longitudinal resting-state functional connectivity in @prevent_ad! All my thanks goes to such a great team @sylv_villeneuve, @alexa_pichetb, @_JakeVogel_, @pf_meyer https://t.co/nxTBmZusvD
You can access more of the PREVENT-AD data openly! A lot of work has gone into this, particularly from @sylv_villeneuve’s team. It was a lot work but we are delighted to share this with you! #openscience
1/14 Once upon a time (>2 years ago), we started the journey of making the PREVENT-AD data open. We had to reconsent the participants, develop the platform to host and share the data (thanks to Alan Evans and @NeuroLibre teams), clean the data and create the data dictionary.
