FIP is a magical gay place and it’s also prohibitively expensive for most people to go, especially if you don’t already live in New York. Two things can be true at the same time. Let’s wrap it up.
From @TheAthleticFC: New Jersey Transit is currently planning to charge more than $100 for return rail tickets from Penn Station to MetLife Stadium for FIFA World Cup games.
The 18-mile rail journey ordinarily costs $12.90 for a return ticket. https://t.co/vjGqvpr1qT
@nnjpolitics There’s a pathway for even more candidates. The win number is ridiculously low.
(I’m the operative who was working on LD-2 and banging the drum begging people to pay attention since May)
@eaconner@MikieSherrill NJ Transit has offered right of way to the Port Authority to give direct access to EWR. It’s less than 3 miles. Think of the ride shares we could get off the roads
EVERY LINE, EVERY DAY: You told us, and we listened.
The @PANYNJ is proposing some of the largest service increases in PATH history.
All PATH lines would operate seven days a week, for the first time in 25 years - a major milestone for the system’s modernization following the conclusion of the PATH Forward program in 2026.
The proposed plan also proposes more frequent rush hour, late-night, and weekend service:
-Increased rush hour service, with Hoboken-WTC trains every six minutes during morning rush hour (+33%), and Newark-WTC trains every four minutes during morning and evening rush hours (+25%)
-Improved late-night service, with trains arriving every 20 minutes (instead of 40), for all lines, on Fridays and Saturdays
-Reinstated direct weekend service on the Journal Square–33 St line with trains every ten minutes, and no more stopping in Hoboken
-Better weekend service, with dedicated service to Hoboken from WTC and 33rd St, for the first time in 25 years
The proposed plan also includes installation of new state-of-the-art fare gates to combat fare evasion.
PATH’s operations are unique among major U.S. transit systems in that PATH receives no state or federal funding. To sustain operations and fund these major service increases, The Port Authority is proposing a fare increase of $0.25 beginning in spring 2026, with additional $0.25 increases each January from 2027 to 2029. The proposal would enable faster, smoother travel throughout the PATH system.

@neeratanden People who can work productively at home don’t have a problem with return to office policies. It’s people who find their days at home filled with distractions who are always fighting it. Work is work. You gotta show up.
Seems like Twitter is back for politics, so gonna start using this for work more. But I’ll still post thirst traps. So no matter what you’re here for, you’ve been warned about the other stuff.
