@DKShivakumar Please allow same rule as 2025-2026 that children who were 5 years 5 months old by June 1, 2026, and had completed UKG, to enter Class 1 for Year 2026-27 based on repeated plea from parents as 4.5 lakh still affected with new rule?
@DKShivakumar Sir 4.5 lakh ukg kids in Karnataka were already admitted before new rule came.This is last transition batch.
Hon'ble Karnataka High court also supported kids,asked govt to issue order,but it didn't..
@DKShivakumar
Sir please help kids, please need your order
@DKShivakumar Sir, the recent endorsement ED 54 says "no provision" for age relaxation. But last year, Govt successfully relaxed the limit to 5.5 yrs under the exact same law. Why discriminate against the 2026-27 batch? Please grant a uniform 1-time relief! 🙏 #education

@Ganeshmoorthy6@DKShivakumar The current age criteria for Grd 1 admns are creating a silent crisis in our homes. We, as cncrnd prnts, r wrtng this with heavy hearts and a sense of deep agony regrdg refusal of age relaxn for kid entering Grd 1. They miss by a few days is a emotional and developmental trauma.
@DKShivakumar Dear sir .Last year your govt gave relaxation of 6 months and this year only 60 days. This relaxation has helped but only very few are benefiting. What about the major others who fall in 5.5 to 5.10 band who are getting affected? which is the majority numbers
Karnataka government on Thursday announced 60 days age relaxation for class 1 admissions for the children. While, the child has to be six years to get admitted to 1st class in Karnataka, now 5 years 10 months child can be admitted to class 1.
As policymaker, prioritize evidence over rigidity: grant 90-day relaxation this transition year for completed pre-primary kids to enter Class 1, avoiding repeats and stress.
Long-term, shift to readiness-based entry via simple developmental screenings (not just age), plus optional bridge modules for foundational skills.
Apply design thinking by running annual stakeholder pilots with parents/teachers, measuring outcomes like learning gains and retention against global benchmarks. Data transparency shows world-class handling without burdening children.
@ANI New Policy should always be implemented in a phased manner( like other states) allowing existing students to move .Confusion in policies for last few years, put kids in this situation... Request govt to see no of impacted kids& give interim relaxation till a newpolicy is in place
@TweetAbhishekA Policy/rules should be clear from the beginning...a new rule can't be introduced in between without thinking about the impacted people? Who'll pay the price for this? Why it's always common man?

@shivurh@ANI You should question schools...why they took admission if they were aware of the policy
We were not aware of informed of any such rule when admission happened
