***FYI FRIDAY***
We believe in the importance of learning formal notation as well as informal. Pupils from Year 1 and above are beginning to recognise musical symbols and notes!
Just a snapshot of the tremendous impact our BSO collaboration had on the 300 Primary Music children (and adults!) who participated. Their many letters of thanks will be posted off to Poole later this week.

300 Primary Music children took part in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Secrets and Codes concert today in Exeter. We are hugely proud of all of the children, who worked so hard to learn the pieces. Huge thanks to the BSO once again for giving us such an amazing opportunity.

Supporting the mental health of children is an area we have added to our own curriculum this year. Good to see this getting a strong voice in the media and backed by such an influential person.

Another great music camp today, where 42 children enjoyed singing, performing, composing, learning Jingle Bells on glockenspiels, watching parts of Fantasia and taking part in quizzes. We even had a visit from a certain man in red. Merry Christmas!
Concert number 4 out of 6. Today: Woodbury Salterton.
Class 2 performed two versions of Benjamin Britten’s ‘A New Year Carol’ with percussion accompaniment & Class 3 performed Jingle Bells on melodicas.
Our parents were treated to Christmas songs as well as coffee & mince pies.
@StNicholasCPS A huge well done to Okehampton, Lydford, Kingswear and Berry Pomeroy for a wonderfully entertaining Samba concert this afternoon. For a lot of children this was their first experience of performing on stage.

Major upgrade to Song Centre happening very soon. "Charanga Sing" to add over 200 new songs - plus wonderful new search facility with categories for class teachers & music specialists! #sing
