@FineArtEnjoyer@zoidz00@ebonylewkovitz He’s always been very curious and knowledgeable. Videos of him 20 years ago talking about DVDs and the internet were already forward thinking.
The horrific reality for people of #Gaza & #Israel since 7 October 2023 detailed in @UNHumanRights report.
Close to 70% of those killed in Gaza are children & women.
Unprecedented violations of IHL give rise to concerns of atrocity crimes. The violence must stop immediately.
@Menina_Alice@jstroud3@thetimes Yes, About £2k/month in zone 1/2 per child, you need to earn 160k to be flat again vs 99k. In my line of work, people often move to Europe when they have more than 1 kid. Shame.
@InaHussein91 @CatioMiles @PStein59990336@PedderSophie Germany does not play in the European interest but for its own (too little agreed to Ukrain/energy with Russian pipelines instead of diversifying+coal policy/cars exports and tariffs in China/defense contracts with US instead of European countries…). Does not show unity.
@LostinEU@PedderSophie Unfortunately imho I believe that the result of these European elections was more an epidermic reaction/rejection to Macron’s government in France with deeply unpopular reforms rather than a real rejection of his international policy.
@MareCdr@CHaesemeyer@PedderSophie Indeed. And by September he would have been forced to call an election as there was no way the budget would have been voted so he just took the opportunity to do it three months ahead and on his terms. With these results vs expected polls, it’s not a bad strategic move.
@robertwakulat@Ross_Greer Will be interesting to see how a majority gets constructed. PM resigning but staying until clarification on majority. EM has the second biggest coalition, more than anticipated. Interesting weeks ahead even though it’s the French summer holidays where nothing happens usually.
@robertwakulat@Ross_Greer Macron was stuck and was about to get found out with a budget he could not pass in September. In the 🇪🇺 elections he got destroyed. So technically his gamble was just to control the dates of elections, and his short campaign was successful vs expected polls.
