I can explain this, perhaps not eloquently.

First, understand that ideologically all of the tech bros are essentially more aligned with Democrats than any other political construct.

Second, Thiel (Palantir) has openly shared what the future of AI combined with surveillance will look like. His CEO Alex Karp has also outlined (during the Anthropic controversy) how the U.S. govt can simply throw a definition of "national security" over any technology (even public sector) and take control of it.

Third, then overlay the datacenter issue, which will enhance all of the AI stuff and then collate with the surveillance stuff. The tech oligarchs know the system they will build will then become a matter of national defense and as an outcome govt controlled.

Fourth. The technocrats are currently supporting the MAGA division, because essentially having Trump or Trumpian cabinet making decisions is not in the interest of their constructed business model.

Fifth, give yourself an honest, historical, non-pretending review of how Obama/Biden weaponized the functions of government. Including the law enforcement, justice and national security institutions.

Lastly, with totalitarians, ideological Democrats, likely to take control of the systems, the Tech bros need a hedge against: (a) losing their operational interests, and (b) becoming target #1 for the system they have created.
