Excerpts from our joint session earlier today on News Central.
I noted that kidnapping remains profitable because the financial returns are high while the risk of successful prosecution and loss of criminal proceeds remains low.
To disrupt the ransom economy, we must follow the money, dismantle the networks behind the kidnappers, recover criminal proceeds and strengthen investigations.
#Nigeria@66 The State of National Security: 1 Day of Peace in 850 Days of Violent Killings
This is why beef of any kind from Nigeria, even as a flavor in other products, cannot be exported to many countries overseas. Everything, from farming to meat handling in Nigeria is of poor standard.
How can you comfortably sell sick and dying cattle? People are suffering so many illnesses and can’t even trace the root cause.
Tufiakwa!
"Fuck you and your good governance. We dont want good governance."
A young person with a functional brain set up his camera and ring light to utter this statement because he wants to justify his tribalism and bigotry.
Wow, Just WOW😳
This is always the issue.
Nationality should always come first, before tribe or religion or any other bs
You’re Nigerian first. Everything else is just noise
There are Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo bigots.
Tribal Prejudice isn’t peculiar to just a tribe.
We’ve bigots on all ends and we all should condemn such fellows but if your reaction isn’t a condemnation of such fellows but more bigotry, then you’ve always been a closeted bigot.

We have Love Island. We have Survivor. We have The Bachelor.
Now please make a show where you put a billionaire CEO in a regular apartment, give them their lowest-paid employee’s paycheck, and tell them it has to last 30 days.
I’d watch every episode.
Hitler was 15 in 1904. The Nazi party wasn't founded until 1920 and had no power over the military. The genocide in Namibia wasn't a Nazi atrocity, it was German.
IT'S YOUR PERFUME.
I've seen this many times. A foreigner or in this case a black person goes to China or East Asia, and they are greeted with covered noses and mouths.
They think to themselves, I smell good, I applied perfume before leaving, why are they doing this? This must be racism.
Chinese and East Asians do not have body odor, ~95% of us carry a variant in the ABCC11 gene causing us to produce no smell after sweating.
You can't even find deodorants supermarkets in China, people just don't need it. So our sense of smell is not used to strong perfumes, and when you enter a confined space with your perfume, people literally find the smell stinging our noses.
Since 2 October 2026, all four Lagos State-owned universities: LASU, LASUED, LASUSTECH and LASUCOM have been shut by an indefinite strike. This was avoidable and unacceptable.
University workers deserve a pay rise and a government that honours its commitments to them. A government that allows its universities to shut down indefinitely is not only failing its workers, it is gambling with the future of our children.
Nine months of unpaid arrears, from January to September 2026, Implementation of the agreed salary structure and a 15 per cent “Lagos Factor” to reflect the extraordinary cost of living in Lagos, are not unreasonable demands in an economy that has pauperized working people.
Lagos is now the biggest recipient of federal allocations among Nigeria’s states. It’s internally generated revenue is unquestionably the highest, but yet it lacks empathy towards its workers.
Recall that in 2023, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu pledged a 20 percent salary increase for university workers and five Marcopolo buses to improve transportation for students and staff.
Three years later, workers are still waiting.
A government that cannot fulfil a commitment to provide five buses for its own universities must explain why Lagosians should continue to trust its promises.
I therefore call on the Lagos State Government to immediately pay the nine months of arrears owed to university workers, covering January to September 2026.
Additionally, the government must Implement the agreed salary structure and the 15 per cent Lagos Factor in full.
It should also honor the 2023 commitment to provide five Marcopolo buses for our universities.
I call on Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Hamzat, to meet with the unions this week and bring this strike to an immediate end.
Lagos can afford to pay its university workers but what Lagos cannot afford is a government that chooses its comfort over the future of our children.
