i try to let ppl have the "you'll never be a new yorker" thing b/c 1) i didn't ask to be called that, and 2) it doesn't change anything about my life
but seriously, would you tell the immigrant man who runs my halal cart he'll never be a real new yorker to his face? & why not??
if you want to discuss anything on the internet, you need to include your entire medical and psychological history and have three peer reviewed papers ready at every moment, and you also need to engage with reactionary bad faith arguments that people can’t even explain.
@hadalzoner@cher_ebooks You don't deserve super presumptuous replies like this. At the same time, you haven't really said much about what exactly is irking/alienating you in these settings, so it's hard to converse in any sort of neutral way. Hope you're well!
@deathdevotions@hadalzoner "Men" to me, without qualifiers, means not just sexual/romantic relationships but includes nephew, coworker, patient, dad, etc.
does remind me of the ongoing discussion about autistic women being ostracized out of connection with other women. I misread a cue unfortunately :(
@deathdevotions@hadalzoner I am a bi woman who may talk about her step-dad, step-brother, a coworker, a neighbor, etc. If OP only meant boyfriends/husbands Im sure she can speak for herself lol.
Before puberty my hair used to be 3C-ish and being a kid, I'd get braids regularly. When my mom got hand surgery she found a braider who sewed at the base of my skull and made my scalp develop what I can only describe as like...a tension rash? It hurt so bad.
My hair has been weirdly sensitive to hormonal changes. Texture loosened with puberty and then a lot more on the pill. The past 15ish years on birth control, I've been growing strands that are a combination of various levels of thickness, coarseness, curliness.
