So excited to have been accepted as a 2023 SMDP Biotech scholar. #SMDP paires you with industry mentors for a year to help students like me learn more about it. As part of the program I also got the chance to attend #BIO2023 and I enjoyed it a lot 🔬
In case you missed it: Women are less likely to be credited for their scientific contributions than men. It’s true across multiple fields & at all stages, with important repercussions for career progress. #WomenInSTEM#WomenInMedicine#MedTwitter

The TX Senate has passed SB16, which bans teaching about race and gender, SB 17, which bans many DEI programs/offices; and SB 18, which abolishes tenure. These bills will now go to the House. We need Texas faculty and students to come to the capitol on May 3rd at 2 pm! Info below
Personal statements ask us to open up about our journey only to later use our experiences as weak points to justify our exclusion. When we share our confidence in ourselves it's painted as cockiness and pride. When we share our struggles we are blamed for them. How do we win?
(1/6) To kick off our student highlights this semester, Adriana Claudio-Vázquez (@AdrianaPClaudio) is a first-year graduate student in Uttam Tambar's lab!
