@jasonbahl As of now, there could be also another "edge-case" approach, and that is to make https://t.co/SCiTQaDA6g with your own custom server registry. However, this approach would work only for new users or there would have to be some sort of one-time converter from native -> custom.

@andrewingram @JoshWComeau I agree. And you also create cyclic references, which are always a bad thing. Suppose you have an iphone home button, which goes into black, silver, gold models. Should the button has to know in which model it can go? No, you create separete colored ones for each model.

What is all of this good for? Well you can actually use @WordPress with Gutenberg as your headless CMS and display your content in a structured way in something completely different like Gatsby or Next. Speaking of @gatsbyjs, stay tuned for more plugins based on this one.
