@abhijeet_dipke Please include forests /environment. The youth of the country needs forests to survive. All forest lands, adivasi land is being sold off. It takes 150+ years to create a forest where will the youth go?
@CJP_2029 please include massive destruction of forests in your protests agenda. Education and Environment are a must for the youth. How will the youth survive without forests? #shame#cockroachjantaparty#sansadchalo

BLUNT REALITY: The Doon Valley in #Uttarakhand is literally dead and facing an existential crisis.
Over the past few decades, the valley has been ravaged from all sides (Shivaliks/Yamuna/Mussoorie/Ganga) through unplanned urbanisation, illegal mining, indiscriminate construction and the relentless conversion of natural landscapes into real estate. Governments (state & centre both), planning authorities, colluding officials, businessmen, agents and citizens have all played a role in this decline. To me; the state government, elected public representatives, govt agencies & officers are the biggest culprits.
Locally, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) was created to guide sustainable development. However, dismayed citizens have long lost hopes and are absolutely dejected that the development direction of the valley has gone totally haywire due to the wrong-doings of MDDA.
What's the hope? Can the Supreme Court, NGT, High Court and responsible institutions step in where necessary? More importantly, can we as citizens demand a development model that protects both livelihoods and the ecological foundations of #Dehradun #Mussoorie #Rishikesh and entire Doon Valley?
