This is Salim Swaleh,

I taught him "Public Speaking in Kiswahili" while he was a student at Menengai High School in Nakuru.

Afterwards, he went to Iran, where he studied media and communications in Swahili.

He worked in a radio station in Tehran before coming back to Kenya, where he was employed in a local TV station.

Recently, I was shocked to see him at a state function. He was the MC in that function.

Today, I just saw this.

I knew him as a forthright and righteous man full of charisma and morals.

His childhood was difficult because his family was struggling to meet basic needs.

Here is the thing,

The moment you sleep with dogs, be ready to be infested with fleas.

Journalists should never join politicians no matter the sumptuousness of employment emoluments.

Journalists must remain noble. They must be the mirror of our society.

Journalism is a calling. It is a God-given skill that must never depart the journalist.

Unfortunately, modern journalism is a whoredom,

Modern journalism is a den of crookedness

Modern journalism is a home of lies, deception and corruption.

Once a journalist accepts to sleep with politicians, he loses dignity and auctions his soul at the altar of moral turpitude.

We no longer have journalists but rent-seekers masquerading as journalists.
