@LauraLoomer@PMastersMusic A 2 minute search reveals that his family fled Iran when he was a young child during the Revolution because his parents were both intellectuals and were at risk. He is American and has dedicated his life to building and developing companies and people. What have you done?
@bluewavemaui@ChrisWickNews This is absolutely correct. But beyond character, they also missed his lack of intelligence, record of poor decision making, his inability to take or even hear advice, and his obvious cognitive decline. His character is his worst feature among a long list of deficits.
@liltnDeplorable@allenanalysis@lorraine_teuten You don’t “pass the test with flying colors.” You either recognize the drawing is a giraffe or you don’t. Trump is obviously experiencing significant cognitive and psychological decline. Makes sense, he’s nearly 80 years old. Sadly, he is declining from a low baseline.
@CricketSurfing@SeanCas39042340@Microinteracti1 I believe the Canadian housing bubble, which has been going on for as long as I have been in Canada (2005), is so large and pervasive that there won’t be any easy fix, though I agree with your YIMBY zoning/simplification idea.
@CricketSurfing@SeanCas39042340@Microinteracti1 And sadly most people view their homes as their most prized asset and the most important part of their retirement plans. Maybe they shouldn’t have, but they did and reforms that ⬇️ home prices would likely create a political force of nature preventing that from happening.
@CricketSurfing@SeanCas39042340@Microinteracti1 It would be bad for anyone whose mortgage would end up being more than the value of their home and if enough of those people existed, it could become a financial catastrophe for everyone. Canadian mortgages are more regulated than American but we cannot forget 2008 crisis.
@Cor_Blimey_Guv@MikeFie03379124@Robins_Realm@ArrogantNBlack I think they just fired everyone by email or tweet. No way this kid could pull off firing someone. He probably doesn’t have the courage to ask someone out or take his shirt off at the beach.
@trundistroyer@AJD20201@MikeFie03379124@ArrogantNBlack There are well-worn paths for govts to identify & realize savings. These generally involve a process validated in advance by stakeholders with input from subject matter experts. None involve hiring 22 yos and giving them authority to recommend cutting vital functions or programs.
@crimenycrud@MikeFie03379124@AmberWoods100@ArrogantNBlack Damn you! I didn’t notice but went back to look and, for some reason, this tells me everything I need to know about his judgment. The kid should have been an intern at Tesla, not in a decision making position impacting natl. security, the health of millions, nuclear safety, etc.
@CricketSurfing@SeanCas39042340@Microinteracti1 Agree this would help; not sure it is “the solution.” Any real solution will result in price ⬇️ leading to massive political/economic issues. Frothy property mkts made ppl rich/feel rich. They won’t let that go without a fight. Markets collapse when mortgages exceed asset values.
@Lucky1loulou@HeidiHasz@JCDoubleTaxed@elonmusk@WhiteHouse@JDVance@realDonaldTrump Hey toots! You don’t get to decide who gets to vote. There is nothing wrong or unusual with citizens living abroad voting. If I could control who got to vote, there would be a civics exam to qualify. But I don’t get to decide and neither do you.
@Lucky1loulou@HeidiHasz@JCDoubleTaxed@elonmusk@WhiteHouse@JDVance@realDonaldTrump Also, you “get that we want the right to vote.” We have the right to vote. And the thing about rights is that they aren’t privileges. They are immutable and not dependent on your comfort with mail-in ballots, which have been used for decades without any material issues.
