unlearn shame. all forms of shame: unemployment, illness, vulnerability, longing, desire, errors, failures. you do not need to feel ashamed of what you are experiencing or living. freedom and shame cannot coexist.
If your parents overprotected you, helicoptered you, refused to teach you life skills, and forced you down the path they wanted, they abused you. Don’t let them gaslight you into believing there’s something wrong with you, or that you were “coddled” or “had it too easy” as a kid.
