Assembly playbook is this:

They’re well aware that crores of young Tamils are watching Assembly videos for the first time ever.

The goal of an Assembly is to keep the ruling side in check. Instead, here’s what happens:

- DMK asks a question
- People like Nirmal provoke others with unwanted statements
- The Assembly turns chaotic
- People from the DMK side throw counter-rebuttals
- Their IT wing cuts those clips and puts them on social media, portraying the DMK as the villain
- Mr. Aadhav gets up and asks members to stay quiet
- The original questions raised by the DMK/opposition parties go unanswered

The commoner takes away only the chaos created by opposition leaders. It’s nothing but a deliberate instillation of hate. Must be condemned thoroughly. ☹️

Hope the decision to scrap #Parandur airport project will be challenged in Court and the Government called upon to explain how they are going to identify 6000 acres of land near Chennai without any water body or any agricultural land.

Thousands of crores of public money have been spent on the project already and it should not be scrapped on the whims and fancies of one man.

One can understand if there are alternate sites already in the picture. Even then the minimum time to get the approvals and start land acquisition is not less than 3 years. After that God knows how long land acquisition will take.

Here they have no clue where that alternate location is. If they had why didn't the CM mention these in his speech today?

It will be a minimum of 10 years before the airport can be built and becomes functional and that is assuming everything happens at great speed.

Meanwhile Bangalore and Hyderabad will race ahead and maybe some other cities too.

Chennai will no longer be a metro. We will be a tier 2 city in less than a decade.

If the same attitude persists across sectors the State is doomed.

The Parandur decision is deeply upsetting.

We can all argue all we want, throw political muck around, create narratives and counter-narratives, indulge in blame games.. whatever.. but this is a decision which is anti-Tamil Nadu, anti-people, anti-development, anti-economy.

This significantly erodes the economic future of the state. There is no changing that.

Even among TVK’s supporters and proxies, I can respect those who agree that this is a bad decision but don’t want to go against CM Vijay, I understand political compulsions, at least that’s being truthful.

But if you support or justify this decision, prop up arguments to muddy the debate, you are a scoundrel.

The problem with scrapping parandur airport is ,
TN is growing ,the decision to scrap a project and to search for a alternative will take decades before we build one.
TN s growth and economy and industrial hit will be irreplaceable in due course.
