My ultimate career aspiration has always been to become a #physician. This January I wrote my #MCAT for the 3rd time. After 3 years of blood, sweat, and tears I found out today that I got a score beyond my wildest dreams. I’m speechless. @AAMC_MCAT
A little life update:
What is the cost of a dream? I'd be lying if I said it was the thousands of dollars I spent on my education or even the thousands of hours I spent studying. 1/n
I'm so excited to share that I will be attending @SchulichMedDent this fall. My dream of being a physician, a dream that was 15 years in the making, has finally come true. I can't wait to unravel this next chapter of my life!
People who believed, often times harder than me, that a career in #medicine was my calling. To my family who I consider my best friends, and my friends who I consider family, thank you. 3/n
Here is a way to ask about a person’s cultural background during a medical history (from Diane Longboat)—with a. specific purpose rather than as just data-gathering:
“Are there any practices from your culture or background that will help with your healing right now?”
#BREAKING - The federal government not willing to play ball. The federal finance minister’s office tells @cmaconthehill “When Ontario is ready to mandate sick leave in provincially-regulated businesses, as we have done for federally-regulated businesses, we will be there to help”
Without paid sick leave, Ontario's essential workers are most at risk. Paid sick leave, saves lives. Add your name to this petition calling on @Fordnation to legislate paid sick leave now: https://t.co/spWatQvFUR
@DrRussRD @HerleenArora @jjustneel Thank you for tagging @DrRussRD! Would be very glad to chat & collaborate. Thinking about health and its intersections with IPV/DV- here's a great group I work with, that may also be able to collaborate to further our collective mission: @ccfwe

Just last year, we faced harassment for being a Chinese-owned business. We were asked which ingredients came from China & were told to go home.
But, we persevered because food is the language of love in my family. 1/2
I’m always astounded at the pace of medical progress but this takes the cake
